ఆర్జిమోన్ (Argemone) పుష్పించే మొక్కలలో పెపావరేసి (Papaveraceae) కుటుంబానికి చెందిన ప్రజాతి. దీనిలో సుమారు 30 to 32 జాతులు ఉన్నాయి.[2] that are native to the Americas and Hawaii. The generic name originated as αργεμωνη in Greek and was applied by Dioscorides to a poppy-like plant used to treat cataracts.[3][4]
