English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (Apr. 2, 2003) -- Steelworker Constructionman Patrick Lewis from Kenosha, Wis., is attached to Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB-2) stationed at Little Creek, Va., welds a seam on a piece of pile to be used in the upcoming Elevated Causeway System (ELCAS)-modular structure being built at Camp Patriot. The ELCAS is a joint effort of Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) Seabees from the East and West coasts. It will serve as an additional tool in the ongoing Combined Joint Logistics Over the Shore (CJLOTS) activities. CJLOTS allows the offload of supplies, equipment and ordnance from Army and Navy pre-positioning ships, to reach the troops in a timelier manner. The Seabees are deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
