భారత రక్షణ దళాలు

భారత సైనిక బలగాలలో 3 ప్రధాన విభాగాలున్నాయి.[14]:[15]
14 లక్షల పైబడిన సైన్యంతో,[16] భారత రక్షణ బలగాలు ప్రపంచంలోకెల్లా మూడవ అతిపెద్ద సైన్యం.[17] ఈ దళాలన్నిటికీ సర్వసైన్యాధ్యక్షుడు, భారత రాష్ట్రపతి. ఈ సైనిక దళాల నిర్వహణ భారత ప్రభుత్వపు రక్షణ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ చూస్తుంది. పై మూడు ప్రధాన దళాలకు వాటివాటి అధిపతులు ఉండగా, మూడింటినీ సమన్వయ పరుస్తూ సంయుక్త ప్రధాన సైన్యాధికారి ఉంటారు. త్రివిధ దళాధిపతులు ముగ్గురిలోకీ సీనియరు అధికారి ఈ బాధ్యతలు నిర్వహిస్తారు.
ప్రధానమైన పై మూడు దళాలతో పాటు తీర రక్షక దళం, ఇతర పారామిలిటరీ దళాలు కూడా రక్షణ దళాలలో భాగంగా ఉన్నాయి.[18] వ్యూహాత్మక బలగాల కమాండ్, అండమాన్, నికోబార్ కమాండ్ వంటి ప్రత్యేక కమాండ్లు కూడా భారత రక్షణ వ్యవస్థలో భాగం.
భారత సాయుధ దళాలు అనేక సైనిక చర్యల్లో పాలుపంచుకున్నాయి. 1947, 1965, 1971 నాటి భారత పాక్ యుద్ధాలు, 1963 భారత చైనా యుద్ధం, భారత పోర్చుగీసు యుద్ధం, 1987 భారత చైనా ఘర్షణ, కార్గిల్ యుద్ధం, సియాచిన్ ఘర్షణ వీటిలో కొన్ని. ప్రతి సంవత్సరం డిసెంబరు 7 న భారత్ సాయుధ దళాల దినోత్సవం జరిపి వీరోచిత సైనికులను సత్కరించుకుంటుంది. 1962 నుండి భారతీయ వాయుసేన రష్యాతో దగ్గరి సంబంధాలు నెలకొల్పుకుంది. ఐదవ తరం ఫైటరు విమానం, సైనిక రవాణా విమానాల అభివృద్ధి ఈ సహకారంలో భాగం. అణుత్రయ సామర్థ్యాన్ని సాధించిన భారత్[19] తన సాయుధ బలగాలను నిరంతరం ఆధునికీకరిస్తూ ఉంది.[20] క్షిపణి రక్షణ వ్యవస్థ, రేపటి సైనిక వ్యవస్థ ఈ ఆధునికీకరణలో కొన్ని భాగాలు.[21][22][23]
