Mpradeepbot[మార్చు]

I would like approval to run my new Mpradeepbot. Its main purpose is to create pages for all the mandals, using a specific template and also categorize all the maps of the mandals. more information on the user page.

  • the bot is not manually assisted (at this time -- if I expand it, it probably will be)
  • It is written in Python, with pywikipedia
  • I have been manually creating/updating that project pages for some time. It's a bit of a pain, as there is a lot of redundant work, copying and pasting. This could be easily done with a robot. Thus it will help the community.
  • The list of sample updates the bot made can be viewed here.

    • Once or twice a day, I'll also add http://tools.wikimedia.de/~flacus/IWLC/ 's useful results using warnfile.py .

Bot policy[మార్చు]

Hello. To facilitate steward granting of bot access, I suggest implementing the standard bot policy on this wiki. In particular, this policy allows stewards to automatically flag known interlanguage linking bots (if this page says that is acceptable), which form the vast majority of such requests. The policy also enables global bots on this wiki (if this page says that is acceptable), which are trusted bots that will be given bot access on every wiki that allows global bots.

This policy makes bot access requesting much easier for local users, operators, and stewards. To implement it we only need to create a redirect to this page from Project:Bot policy, and add a line at the top noting that it is used here. Please read the text at m:Bot policy before commenting. If you object, please say so; I hope to implement in one week if there is no objection, since it is particularly written to streamline bot requests on wikis with little or no community interested in bot access requests.   • Purpose:
    • main task: changes external links which are outdated and can be successfully replaced by a new one.
    • side job: interwikis, but only supervised on single sites (done by py)
  • Have bot flag at: dewiki(home),ar,be-x-old,bn,bs,ca,cs,da,el,en,es,fi,fr,he,hr,hu,it,ja,ksh,lb,lt,ms,nl,nn,no,pl,pt,ro,ru,sh,sl,sr,sv,sw,tr,zh,commons,simple and some other smf projects (see all flags)
  • Details:
    The bot replaces urls that have to be changed. This can be only a domain change or a more complex page structure change on a website. Links are dectected with the help of the api (and not with regex) and are only replaced if the webserver of the new url returns a 200-status-response for that new resource. “Link text” is not changed. (own framework written in java - used by all of my bots)
    Could sb. please help me to localize the edit summary of my bot for te? I have described the four possible edit summaries at వాడుకరి చర్చ:MerlLinkBot.
