అషెర్ నోరియా(ఆంగ్లం: Asher Noria) (జననం 1992 నవంబరు 20)[2] ఒక భారతీయ షూటర్. అతను భారతదేశానికి అనేక జాతీయ, అంతర్జాతీయ పతకాలు సాధించిపెట్టాడు. అతను వరుసగా రెండు సంవత్సరాలు అంతర్జాతీయ షూటింగ్ జూనియర్ ప్రపంచ కప్ డబుల్ ట్రాప్ ఈవెంట్‌ను గెలుచుకున్న ప్రపంచంలోని ఏకైక షూటర్.[3][4]

ప్రారంభ కెరీర్ (2005–2006)[మార్చు]

అషెర్ నోరియా భారతదేశానికి చెందిన మాజీ డబుల్ ట్రాప్ స్పెషలిస్ట్ గుస్తీ జల్ నోరియా కుమారుడు. అతను మాజీ జాతీయ షూటర్ అయిన యూహన్ నోరియా తమ్ముడు. అషెర్ నోరియా చిన్నప్పటి నుంచే తన తండ్రి దగ్గర షూటింగ్‌ని నేర్చుకున్నాడు.[5] అషెర్ నోరియా పోటీలలో రాణించడానికి తల్లి మితా నోరియా, తండ్రి మద్దతు పలికారు. షూటింగ్ కుటుంబం నుండి వచ్చినందున, షూటింగ్ నైపుణ్యాలు అషెర్ నోరియాకు సహజంగానే వచ్చాయి.[6] 2005లో 11 ఏళ్ల వయస్సులో అషెర్ నోరియా డబుల్ ట్రాప్ ఈవెంట్‌లో పాల్లొన్నాడు. అతను మొదట హైదరాబాదులో జరిగిన షూటింగ్ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో పాల్గొన్నాడు.[7] ఆ తరువాత ఆరుసార్లు ఒలింపియన్, జువాన్ గిహా మొదలైన ఈవెంట్లలో మెరిసాడు.[8]

అషెర్ నోరియా జాతీయ స్థాయి పోటీల్లో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ తరపున అనేక పతకాలు సాధించారు.[11][12] 2007 నుంచి అంతర్జాతీయ పోటీల్లో భారత్ తరఫున పతకాలు సాధించడం ప్రారంభించాడు.[13] అషెర్ నోరియా అంతర్జాతీయ పోటీలలోకి ప్రవేశించడం సైప్రస్ ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లతో ప్రారంభమైంది, అక్కడ అతను ఆరవ స్థానంలో నిలిచాడు. కువైట్ ఆసియా షూటింగ్ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్స్‌లో, అతను 2004 సమ్మర్ ఒలింపిక్స్‌లో డబుల్ ట్రాప్ ఈవెంట్‌లో తన ఆరాధ్యదైవం, బంగారు పతక విజేత అయిన అహ్మద్ బిన్ హషర్ అల్ మక్తూమ్‌ను కలిశాడు. అషెర్ నోరియా ఈ సమావేశాన్ని స్ఫూర్తిదాయకంగా భావించాడు.[14]

2008 సింగపూర్ ఓపెన్‌లో, అషెర్ నోరియా తన మొదటి అంతర్జాతీయ బంగారు పతకాన్ని గెలుచుకున్నాడు.[15] తిరిగి బంగారు పతకం 2 నెలల్లోనే 2008 కామన్వెల్త్ యూత్ గేమ్స్‌లో కైవసం చేసుకున్నాడు. దీంతో అతను 2004 వేసవి ఒలింపిక్స్‌లో రాజ్యవర్ధన్ సింగ్ రాథోడ్ నెలకొల్పిన జాతీయ రికార్డును అధిగమించాడు.[16] అషెర్ నోరియా ఇదే విభాగంలో 2009 ఇంటర్నేషనల్ జూనియర్ వరల్డ్ కప్ షూటింగ్ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో బంగారు పతకాన్ని గెలుచుకున్నాడు.[17] మ్యూనిచ్‌లో జరిగిన 2010 ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో, జూనియర్ డబుల్ ట్రాప్ ఈవెంట్‌లో అషెర్ నోరియా బంగారు పతకాన్ని గెలుచుకున్నాడు.[18] ఈ క్రమంలో జూనియర్ విభాగంలోనూ సరికొత్త జాతీయ రికార్డు సృష్టించాడు.[19] మ్యూనిచ్‌లో అతని ఆటతీరును మెచ్చుకుని సహారా గ్రూప్ ₹300,000 (US$3,900) నగదు బహుమతితో అషెర్ నోరియాను సత్కరించింది.[20]

2010 కామన్వెల్త్ గేమ్స్[మార్చు]

రాజ్యవర్ధన్ రాథోడ్ ఎంపిక ప్రక్రియను నిరసిస్తూ ఎంచుకున్నందున, అషెర్ నోరియా 2010 కామన్వెల్త్ గేమ్స్‌లో భారతదేశానికి ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహించడానికి ఎంపికైయ్యాడు.[21] అతను రోంజన్ సోధీ, మానవ్‌జిత్ సింగ్ సంధుతో పాటు అన్ని షాట్‌గన్ ఈవెంట్‌లకు ఎంపికయ్యాడు.[22] గేమ్స్‌కు ముందు, భారత కోచ్, అషెర్ నోరియా యువ షూటర్‌లలో ఒకరని అన్నారు. అయితే రాజ్యవర్ధన్ రాథోడ్‌తో సరిపెట్టుకోవడం తనకు సవాల్‌గా మారుతుందని అషెర్ నోరియా భావించాడు.[23]

పురుషుల డబుల్ ట్రాప్ పెయిర్స్ ఈవెంట్‌లో అషెర్ నోరియా రంజన్ సోధితో జత కట్టి రజత పతకాన్ని గెలుచుకున్నారు.[24] డబుల్ ట్రాప్ వ్యక్తిగత ఈవెంట్‌లో అషెర్ నోరియా తృటిలో కాంస్య పతకాన్ని కోల్పోయాడు. రజత పతకం సాధించిన రోంజన్ సోధీ పురుషుల విభాగంలో అషెర్ నోరియా తొలి అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రదర్శనను మెచ్చుకున్నాడు.[25][26]

అషెర్ నోరియా తన పాఠశాల విద్యను హైదరాబాదు పబ్లిక్ స్కూల్‌లో పూర్తి చేసాడు. 2010 ఆగస్టులో అతను జార్జియా ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ టెక్నాలజీలో చేరాడు.[27] యునైటెడ్ స్టేట్స్‌కు వెళ్లినప్పటికీ, తాను భారత్‌కు క్రీడను కొనసాగిస్తానని అషెర్ నోరియా స్పష్టం చేసాడు.[28]
