కృష్ణమూర్తి సంతానం భారతీయ అణు శాస్త్రవేత్త, పోఖ్రాన్-II పరీక్షల సమయంలో రక్షణ పరిశోధన అభివృద్ధి సంస్థ (డిఆర్డీవో) ఫీల్డ్ డైరెక్టర్.[1] అనిల్ కాకోద్కర్,[2] ఏ.పి.జె. అబ్దుల్ కలాం[3] వంటి శాస్త్రవేత్తల వాదనలు ఉన్నప్పటికీ, 1998 నాటి పోఖ్రాన్ పరీక్షలు పూర్తిగా విజయవంతం కాలేదని 2009లో వెల్లడించి ఆయన వార్తల్లో నిలిచారు.[4] ఈ ప్రకటనలు, తదుపరి పరీక్షల కోసం పెరిగిన ప్రజా ఒత్తిడి కారణంగా భారత ప్రభుత్వం CTBT పరీక్ష నిషేధ ఒప్పందంపై సంతకం చేయలేదు. సంతానం చేసిన ప్రకటనను భారత అణుశక్తి కమిషన్ మాజీ ఛైర్మన్ పి. కె. అయ్యంగార్ సమర్థించారు.[5]
సంతానం యునైటెడ్ నేషన్స్: మల్టీలేటరలిజం అండ్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ సెక్యూరిటీ,[6] ఇండియా అండ్ సెంట్రల్ ఆసియా: అడ్వాన్సింగ్ ది కామన్ ఇంట్రెస్ట్ ,[7] ఏషియన్ సెక్యూరిటీ అండ్ చైనా 2000-2010 [8] అనే మూడు పుస్తకాలకు సంపాదకత్వం వహించారు. పలు వ్యాసాలు రాశారు.[9][10][11] భారత ప్రభుత్వం 1999లో ఆయనకు దేశంలోనే మూడవ అత్యున్నత పౌర పురస్కారమైన పద్మభూషణ్ను ప్రదానం చేసింది.[12]
