క్షితీష్ రంజన్ చక్రవర్తి (1 ఫిబ్రవరి 1916 - 29 సెప్టెంబర్ 1994[1]) భారతదేశానికి చెందిన ఇంజనీర్, ఎరువుల శాస్త్రవేత్త & భారత ఎరువుల సంస్థ (FCI) ప్రణాళిక & అభివృద్ధి విభాగానికి అధిపతి.[2][3]
ఫర్టిలైజర్ కార్పొరేషన్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా ప్రణాళిక & అభివృద్ధి విభాగాన్ని స్థాపించడంలో భారతదేశంలో స్వదేశీ ఎరువుల కర్మాగారాలను అభివృద్ధి చేయడంలో ఆయన ఘనత పొందారు.[4]
క్షితీష్ రంజన్ చక్రవర్తి 1916 ఫిబ్రవరి 1న జన్మించి సైన్స్ బేస్డ్ ఆన్ సిమెట్రీ, వాల్యూమ్, ఎనర్జీ ఫీల్డ్ ఆఫ్ ది యూనివర్స్ అండ్ అటామ్, పార్ట్ 1[5] అనే రెండు పుస్తకాల రచయిత & యాసిడ్ స్లడ్జ్ నుండి అయాన్ ఎక్స్ఛేంజ్ పదార్థంపై ఒక ప్రక్రియకు పేటెంట్ కలిగి ఉన్నాడు.[6][7] ఆయన భారత ప్రభుత్వ టాకినికల్ కన్సల్టెన్సీ సర్వీసెస్ కమిటీలో,[8] 1970లో జరిగిన ఇండో-యుఎస్ వర్క్షాప్ ఆన్ ది మేనేజ్మెంట్ ఆఫ్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ ఆఫ్ ఇండస్ట్రియల్ రీసెర్చ్లో భారతీయ సభ్యుడు.[9] ఆయన 1954లో నాల్గవ అత్యున్నత భారతీయ పౌర పురస్కారం, పద్మశ్రీని అందుకున్నాడు.[10]
ఈ అవార్డును అందుకున్న తొలి గ్రహీతలలో ఒకరిగా ఉన్నాడు.[11] ఆయన శాస్త్రీయ పరిశోధన కోసం భారత ప్రభుత్వ అత్యున్నత సంస్థ అయిన కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ సైంటిఫిక్ అండ్ ఇండస్ట్రియల్ రీసెర్చ్, 1968లో ఇంజనీరింగ్ సైన్సెస్కు ఆయన చేసిన కృషికిగాను ఆయనకు శాంతి స్వరూప్ భట్నాగర్ సైన్స్ అండ్ టెక్నాలజీ బహుమతిని ప్రదానం చేసింది.[12]
