బీహార్ రాష్ట్రంలోని జిల్లాల్లో గయ జిల్లా ఒకటి. ఇది అధికారికంగా 1865 అక్టోబరు 3 న ఏర్పాటైంది. దక్షిణాన జార్ఖండ్ రాష్ట్రం జిల్లాకు సరిహద్దుగా ఉంది. గయ నగరం జిల్లా ముఖ్యపట్టణం. ఇది బీహార్లో రెండవ అతిపెద్ద నగరం.

2011 జనగణన ప్రకారం, గయ జిల్లా జనాభా 43,91,418,[4] [5] ఇది మోల్దోవా జనాభాకు సమానం. అమెరికా రాష్ట్రం కెంటకీకి సమానం.[6] జనాభా పరంగా జిల్లా, భారత జిల్లాల్లో 42 వ స్థనంలో ఉంది.. జిల్లా జనసాంద్రత T880 / చ.కి.మీ. 2001–2011 దశాబ్దంలో జనాభా వృద్ధి రేటు 26.08%. జిల్లాలో లింగనిష్పత్తి 932/1000, అక్షరాస్యత 66.35%.
