గుజరి (గుజరి) కూడా గుర్జరి, గోజ్రి, గుజ్రి, గోజరి లేదా గుర్జార్ అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు ఇండో-యూరోపియన్ భాషల ఇండో-ఇరానియన్ ఉపవిభాగానికి చెందిన సెంట్రల్ ఇండో-ఆర్యన్ భాష, దీనిని భారతదేశం, పాకిస్తాన్ ఉత్తర ప్రాంతాలలో, అలాగే ఆఫ్ఘనిస్తాన్ తూర్పు ప్రాంతాలలో చాలా మంది గుర్జర్లు మాట్లాడతారు.[11][12] ఆజాద్ కాశ్మీర్ పహారీ తరువాత అత్యధికంగా మాట్లాడే రెండవ భాష గుజారి, కాశ్మీరీ, డోగ్రీ తరువాత జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్ ఎక్కువగా మాట్లాడే మూడవ భాష.[13] ఇది ఎక్కువగా గిల్గిట్-బాల్టిస్తాన్, ఖైబర్ పఖ్తున్ఖ్వా, ఆజాద్ కాశ్మీర్, ఉత్తరాఖండ్, జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్, హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్, పంజాబ్, ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్, మధ్యప్రదేశ్, గుజరాత్, రాజస్థాన్, మహారాష్ట్ర, హర్యానా సహా వాయవ్య భారత రాష్ట్రాలలో మాట్లాడతారు.[14] : 68-69 గుజరాతీ రాజస్థానీ, పంజాబీ, హర్యాన్వీ, గుజరాతీ, డోగ్రీ, పహారీలతో బలమైన భాషా సారూప్యతలు ఉన్నాయి, ముఖ్యంగా ధ్వని శాస్త్రం, పదనిర్మాణ శాస్త్రం, ఇది ఈ వివిధ ఇండో-ఆర్యన్ భాషలకు మధ్య బంధాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది.[13]
దీనిని ఆజాద్ కాశ్మీర్ జనాభాలో 19% మంది, జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్ జనాభాలోని 9.5% మంది మాతృభాషగా మాట్లాడతారు. గుజారి భాష ఆజాద్ కాశ్మీర్, జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్లో ఎక్కువగా మాట్లాడే భాషలలో రెండవది, గిల్గిట్-బాల్టిస్తాన్లో ఆరవ లేదా ఏడవ స్థానంలో ఉంది.[15] ఖైబర్ పఖ్తున్ఖ్వా, గుజారి ఒక ప్రధాన భాష, ఇది పాష్టో, హింద్కో, సరైకి తరువాత ర్యాంకింగ్ పొందింది. ఇది ప్రధానంగా కేపీకే ప్రావిన్స్ ఉత్తర భాగంలో మాట్లాడబడుతుంది.[16]
గుజారి ప్రధానంగా పాకిస్తాన్ పర్షియన్-అరబిక్ లిపిలో వ్రాయబడుతుంది, కానీ భారతదేశంలో ఇది పర్షియన్-అరేబిక్ లిపి, దేవనాగరి రెండింటిలోనూ వ్రాయబడుతుంది. 1999లో జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్ ప్రభుత్వం రాష్ట్ర రాజ్యాంగం ఆరవ షెడ్యూల్లో గుజారిని చేర్చడం ద్వారా గుర్తించింది.[17][18][19]
మార్చి 2025లో ఆజాద్ కాశ్మీర్ ప్రభుత్వం ఆరవ, ఎనిమిదవ తరగతుల కోర్సు పాఠ్యప్రణాళికలో గుజారీని ఒక ఐచ్ఛిక విషయంగా చేర్చింది.[20][21] 27 అక్టోబర్ 2025న ఖైబర్ పఖ్తుంఖ్వా ప్రాదేశిక అసెంబ్లీ గుజారీని ప్రాదేశిక అసెంబ్లీలో ఆరవ అధికారికంగా గుర్తించబడిన భాషగా చేసింది.[22][23]

Kunar Province: The Nuristani and Gojar ethnic groups are also represented, along with other small tribes including the Gojar (Gujar), Qandari, Chalasai, Youssufzai, Kohistani-wardage, Kochi, and Alokozi. Pashto is spoken by over 90 per cent of the population. Nuristani (Ghazi Abad), Pashaie (Nor Gal) and Gojar are the other languages spoken within the province.

The mother tongue of Gujjars is Gojri (Bashir, 2016; Bhat & Khan, 2020) and it is spoken globally by 20 million people.

Gojri is one of the ancient Indian Languages belonging to Central group of the Indo-Aryan Languages, spoken by over 20 million people in Central and nor-west India, northern Pakistan and eastern provinces of Afghanistan.

According to a current analysis the Gojri language is the first language of 20 million people in South Asia and nearly eight million people in India, majority of them in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Gujar people are spread from northwestern and central India, across northern Pakistan, and into northeastern Afghanistan. Their language, Gujari, belongs to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European family.

Gujjars make up the third-largest community in Jammu and Kashmir; they are partly nomadic and mostly Muslims. Their language, Gojri, was the second major language after Kashmiri in the state, though it is not recognized in the state constitution.
