జ్యోతిష్మతి (Celastrus paniculatus) is a woody liana commonly known as black oil plant, climbing staff tree, and intellect tree (సంస్కృతం: jyotishmati ज्योतीष्मती, హిందీ: Mal-kangani माल-कांगनी ).[1][2][3] ఇది భారతదేశమంతా 1800 మీటర్ల ఎత్తువరకూ పెరుగుతుంది.[1] వీటి గింజల నుండి తీసిన నూనెను ఆయుర్వేదం, యునానీ వైద్య విధానలలో విస్తృతంగా ఉపయోగిస్తున్నారు.[1][4]
లక్షణాలు[మార్చు]
- ఇది పొడవాటి కొమ్మలు కలిగిన ఎగబ్రాకే మొక్క.
- దీని పత్రాలు దళసరిగ, దంతాల వంటి అంచులు కలిగి ఏకాంతరంగా అమరివుంటాయి.
- "డ్రూపింగ్ ప్యానికల్" పుష్పవిన్యాసంలో ఏర్పడిన పుష్పాలు ఐదేసి రక్షకపత్రాలు, ఆకర్షణపత్రావళి, కేసరాలు కలిగివుంటాయి.
- లేత గోధుమ రంగులోని 4-6 విత్తనాలు నారింజ-ఎరుపు రంగులోని ఏరిల్ (Aril) చే కప్పబడి మూడు చీలికలు కలిగిన పసుపు రంగు గుళిక ఫలము (Loculicidal capsule) నందు తయారు అవుతాయి. బాగా పండిన ఫలాలు చివరలో మూడు చీలికలుగా చీలి విత్తనాలను దూరంగా వెదజల్లుతాయి.
