లెఫ్టినెంట్ జనరల్ ధీరజ్ సేథ్, పివిఎస్ఎమ్, యువైఎస్ఎమ్, ఎవిఎస్ఎమ్ భారత సైన్యంలో పనిచేస్తున్న జనరల్ ఆఫీసర్. ప్రస్తుతం ఆయన 49వ ఆర్మీ స్టాఫ్ వైస్ చీఫ్ పనిచేస్తున్నాడు.[3] ఆయన గతంలో జనరల్ ఆఫీసర్ కమాండింగ్-ఇన్-చీఫ్, సదరన్ కమాండ్ గా పనిచేసాడు, దీనికి ముందు ఆయన జనరల్ ఆఫీసర్ కమాండ్-ఇన్-చీఫ, సౌత్ వెస్ట్రన్ కమాండ్.[4][5] అంతకుముందు ఆయన ఢిల్లీ ప్రాంత జనరల్ ఆఫీసర్ కమాండింగ్ అండ్ జనరల్ ఆఫీసర్ కమాండ్, XXI కార్ప్స్ గా నియమించబడ్డాడు.[6] ఆయన ఆర్మర్డ్ కార్ప్స్ రెజిమెంట్ కు కల్నల్ కూడా.[7]

2026 జూన్ 13న భారత ప్రభుత్వం ధీరజ్ సేథ్ ను తదుపరి ఆర్మీ చీఫ్ గా నియమించింది.[8]

ప్రారంభ జీవితం

ఆయన నేషనల్ డిఫెన్స్ అకాడమీ, ఖడక్వాస్లా, ఇండియన్ మిలిటరీ అకాడమీ, డెహ్రాడూన్ పూర్వ విద్యార్ధి. ఆయన వెల్లింగ్టన్ లోని డిఫెన్స్ సర్వీసెస్ స్టాఫ్ కాలేజ్, ఆర్మీ వార్ కాలేజ్, మోవ్, నేషనల్ డిఫెన్స్ కాలేజ్, న్యూ ఢిల్లీ పూర్వ విద్యార్ధి కూడా. డి. ఎస్. ఎస్. సి. లో, ఆయన 2006లో తన కోర్సులో ఉత్తమ ఆల్ రౌండ్ విద్యార్థిగా ఎంపికయ్యాడు. తరువాత, ఆయన ఫ్రెంచ్ కాలేజ్ ఇంటర్ఆర్మ్స్ డి డెఫెన్స్ లో జనరల్ స్టాఫ్ కోర్సుకు హాజరయ్యాడు. అమెరికాలోని నావల్ పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ స్కూల్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ డిఫెన్స్ అక్విజిషన్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ కోర్సుకు హాజరయ్యాడు.[9][10] యంగ్ ఆఫీసర్స్ కోర్సులో 'సిల్వర్ సెంచూరియన్' అవార్డు అందుకున్నాడు, జూనియర్ కమాండ్ కోర్సుతో సహా తాను హాజరైన అనేక కోర్సులలో మెరిట్ క్రమంలో మొదటి స్థానంలో నిలిచాడు.

ఆయన లెఫ్టినెంట్ జనరల్ కృష్ణ మోహన్ సేథ్ కుమారుడు, ఆయన 1997లో భారత సైన్యం అడ్జటంట్ జనరల్ పదవీ విరమణ చేసాడు. XXI స్ట్రైక్ కార్ప్స్, III కార్ప్స్ లకు కూడా నాయకత్వం వహించాడు.[11] ఆయన టెన్నిస్, గోల్ఫ్ లలో ఆసక్తిగల క్రీడాకారుడు. ఆయన కోమల్ సేథ్ ను వివాహం చేసుకున్నాడు.[12]
