కిలోగ్రాము (Kilogram:గుర్తు kg) అనేది 1000 గ్రాముల బరువుకి సమానం. ఇది మెట్రిక్ పద్ధతిలో బరువు (భారాన్ని) కొలవడానికి వాడే కొలమానం.
- మొదట్లో, కిలోగ్రాము అంటే ఒక లీటరు నీటి యొక్క బరువు అని అనుకునేవారు.
- సా. శ. 1799 నుండి, పేరిస్ లో దాచిన ఒక ప్లేటినం స్థూపం బరువుని కిలోగ్రాముకి ప్రమాణంగా వాడేవారు.
- తరువాత, 20 మే 2019 నుండి కిలోగ్రాముని ప్రాధమిక స్థిరాంకాల (fundamental physical constants) ద్వారా - ప్రత్యేకించి ప్లాంక్ స్థిరాంకం ఉపయోగించి - నిర్వచించేరు.
