రోదసీ యాత్రీకులను వ్యోమగాములు అంటారు. వ్యోమగామి ని అమెరికన్లు "ఆస్ట్రోనాట్" అని, రష్యన్ లు "కాస్మోనాట్" అని అంటారు. రోదసీయాత్ర "శూన్యం" లో యాత్ర. కావున రోదసీ యాత్రీకులకు ప్రత్యేకమైన శిక్షణ అవసరం. వీరి దుస్తులు, ఆహారపుటలవాట్లు, శారీరకశ్రమ అన్నీ రోదసీలో ప్రయాణించుటకు తగినట్లుగా వుంటాయి. ప్రపంచంలోనే ప్రథమ రోదసీ యాత్రికుడు యూరీ గగారిన్, (1961) రష్యాకు చెందినవాడు. భారత మొదటి వ్యోమగామి రాకేశ్ శర్మ (1984).
