తెలుగు వికీపీడియా మరియు ఇతర సోదర ప్రాజెక్టుల పై అవగాహన పెంచేందుకు ఒక ప్రణాళిక ప్రకారం ఈ క్రింది కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టదలిచాము. ఈ అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాల వల్ల పేజి వీక్షణలు మరియు కొత్త సభ్యులు చేరే అవకాశం ఉంది.

ఆఫ్లైను సీడీ
తెలుగువికీపీడియా తన ప్రస్తానాన్ని కొనసాగిస్తున్నా అంతర్జాల సౌకర్యం లేని చోట్ల కూడా (ముఖ్యంగా పాఠశాలలు) ఉపయోగించుకొనే విదంగా ఉండాలనే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో ఆఫ్‌లైన్ సి.డి చేయాలనే ప్రయత్నంలో వికీ అడుగులు పడుతున్నాయి. ఈ ఆఫ్లైను సీడీ లేదా డి.వి.డి. పదవ వార్షికోత్సవ సంబరాలలో ఒక ముఖ్య అతిథి చేతులమీదుగా విడుదల చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నం జరుగుతుంది. దాదాపు 350 వందల పైచిలుకు కాపీలను తయారు చేసి ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలోని ప్రతీ సాంగీక సంక్షేమగురుకుల పాఠశాలకు పంపించే ప్రయత్నం చేయగలం.

Awareness
We have planned to organise the following activities to increase awareness on Telugu wikipedia and Wiki sister projects. These awareness activities would increase wikipedia page views as well as users.
Site Notices
Site Notices would help attract site visitors to know about the event. Each of the activities taken up under Tewiki10 would be informed to users in various ways, Site notice is one such quick broadcast message to the community.
Facebook Publicity
Its been observed that most of the Telugu internet users are concentrated at Facebook and such similar social networking websites. So, in order to reach them, posts informing various activities would happen at following pages:
Using hashtag #Tewiki10, various posts would be posted.
Offline CD
There is acute absence of Internet at several institutions in India, particularly rural areas of Andhra Pradesh. Though internet is available at places, the bandwidth is so low, that it difficult to browse the articles. So, to solve this problem, we have planned to release an offline CD. As a first run, these will be distributed among 350+ Social welfare hostels in Andhra Pradesh.
Press Note
A press note is prepared in Telugu that will be circulated among Press, print and Electronic media that would further enlighten people about Wikipedia. Anyone can join and edit this doc to help us build a better press note :

Wikiacademies
Wiki academies or wiki training sessions are aimed at teaching new users about Wikipedia, its uses, syntax, editing instructions, what is allowed and what not etc. From the day the event has been planned, several educational institutions have been recognised in and around the venue city and Hyderabad. Around 800 students and interest groups participated in these training sessions and got educated about wikipedia editing at basic and advanced levels.
Qualitative Improvement
Its very important to have a qualitative improvement of articles at Wikipedia. The following activities are aimed at increasing this aspect in Telugu wikipedia
Resources
- Existing resources are books and news papers. With view of improving Wikipedia articles, eminent persons and groups working on free knowledge have been approached and some very good sources for writing and improving articles have been discovered, which have been circulated among the community members.
Neutrality
In order to have NPOV, several articles are revisited and biasing has been reduced by adding NPOV.
Illustrations
More and more illustrations are being added both to commons, and from commons, to articles.
Readability
To improve readability of wikipedia articles, few activities and sessions are planned for existing editors that would empower them with more readable articles coming from them.
Formatting
The main central idea of having wiki academies is to teach editors about formatting styles.
Reference & Citation
More options of adding references and citations have been made open with wikisource. Several books that could potentially act as sources for references and which are out of copyrights are encouraged at Wikisource. Also wikipedians are taught about and planned to be taught about importance of references and citations in every possible meetup.
Improving Village articles for Krishna & Guntur districts
To all the village articles of Krishna and Guntur districts (most of which were stub articles), an info box that would enable and tempt users to add more information has been added. And its fruits would be declared as part of event.
Growth of new articles
In order to improve Telugu wikipedia in quantitative aspect, some programs have been planned.
Target 55,555
As of the date that the event was planned, Telugu wikipedia had 54000 article count, and this program aims at bringing the count to 55555 with a restriction that each of the articles added should be at least a start class article.
Essay Writing Competition for Students
