Aravalli district (మూస:Lang-gu) is a district in the state of Gujarat in India that came into being on August 15, 2013, becoming the 29th district of the state. The district has been carved out of the Sabarkantha district. The district headquarters are at Modasa.[3]

గుజరాత్ మరియు రాజస్థాన్ ఆరవల్లి పర్వతావళి జిల్లాలో ఉన్న కారణం జిల్లాకు ఈ పేరు వచ్చింది. .[4] గుజరాత్ ప్రభుత్వ రికార్డులు ఆరవల్లి పర్వతావళిలోని అరసూర్ శాఖ జిల్లాలోని దంతా, మొదస మరియు శ్యామల్జీ తాలూకాలలో ఉందని తెలియజేస్తున్నాయి.[5]
చరిత్ర
2013 లో గుజరాత్ ప్రభుత్వం అంగీకారం పొందిన 7 జిల్లాలలో ఇది ఒకటి. [6] జిల్లాలో దీర్ఘకాలంగా గిరిజన ప్రజలు అధికంగా నివసిస్తున్నారు. 2012 లో గుజరాత్ రాష్ట్ర అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికలు ప్రకటించిన తరువాత అప్పిటి అధికారంలో ఉన్న " భారతీయజనతా పార్టీ " 7 కొత్త జిల్లాల ఏర్పాటును ప్రతిపాదించింది.[7]

బనస్ కాంతా జిల్లాలోని మొదస, మల్పుర్, ధన్సుర, మెఘరాజ్, భిలోద మరియు బయద్ తాలూకాలను వేరు చేసి ఆరవల్లి జిల్లా రూపొందించబడింది. [1]

[1] జిల్లా పారిశ్రామికంగా వెనుకబడి ఉంది. జిల్లాలో పెద్ద పరిశ్రమలు ఏమీ లేనప్పటికీ మొదసా, భిలోడా మరియు ధంసురా తాలూకాలలో చిన్నతరహా పరిశ్రమలు ఉన్నాయి. జిల్లాలో ప్రధానంగా మజుం నది ప్రవహిస్తుంది. మజుం నది మీద రెండు ఆనకట్టలు నుర్మించబడ్డాయి.
