ఆర్కీబాక్టీరియా అనునవి కెంద్రకపూర్వ సూక్ష్మజీవులు.వీటిని అసాధరణ లక్షణాలు కల బాక్టీరియాలుగా గుర్తించారు.వీటి కణరసాయనిక ధర్మాలు, జీవక్రియా విధానాలు, పెరిగే ఆవాసాలు నిజబాక్టీరియాకి భిన్నంగా ఉంటాయి.[4] 1977 లో కార్ల్ వోస్, జి.ఇ. ఫాక్స్ అనే శాస్త్రజ్ఞుడు మొట్టమొదట, RNA జన్యువుల వరుసక్రమాలలోని తేడాల ఆధారంగా ఆర్కీబాక్టీరియాని, కేంద్రక పూర్వజీవులకు చెందిన, ప్రత్యేక సముదాయముగా గుర్తించారు.
ఉనికి[మార్చు]
ఇవి అసాధారణ అవాసాలలో ఏక్కువగా పెరుగుతాయి. ఫలితంగా వీటిని extremophils గా పెర్కొంటారు. పెరిగే అవాసాన్ని బట్టి స్థూలంగా వీటిని క్రింది రకాలుగా విభజిస్తారు.
- హాలోఫిల్స్: ఉప్పు చెలమలు, ఉప్పు నేలలు, సరస్సులలో నివసిస్తాయి.
- థర్మొఫిల్స్: అత్యధిక ఉష్ణోగ్రత ప్రదేశాలలో పెరుగుతాయి. ఉదా: మండే చమురు బావులు, బొగ్గు గనులు మొదలగునవి.
- ఆల్కలి ఫిల్స్: క్షార స్థితికల ఆవారసాలలో పెరుగుతాయి.
- అసిడోఫిల్స్: అధికమైన అమ్ల స్థితిగల పరిసరాలలో పెరగగలవు.
