నీతా మెహతా ప్రముఖ భారతీయ సెలబ్రిటీ షెఫ్[1], రచయిత్రి[2], రెస్టారెంట్ యజమానురాలు,[3] మీడియా పర్సనాలిటీ. ఆమె రాసిన వంటకాల పుస్తకాలు చాలా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందాయి. ఆమె కుకింగ్ క్లాసెస్ కూడా చాలా ప్రఖ్యాతం.[4] టీవీ చానెళ్ళలో వచ్చే వంటపోటీలకు ఆమె న్యాయనిర్ణేతగా కూడా వ్యవహరించారు.[5]
దాదాపు 400 వంటకాల పుస్తకాలు రాశారు నీతా. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఈ పుస్తకాలు 6 మిలియన్ కాపీలు అమ్ముడుపోవడం విశేషం. 1999లో ప్యారిస్లో జరిగిన ప్రపంచవ్యాప్త కుక్ బుక్ ఫెయిర్ లో ఆమె రాసిన ఫ్లేవర్స్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియన్ కుకింగ్ అనే పుస్తకానికి ఉత్తమ ఆసియా కుక్ బుక్ పురస్కారం లభించింది.[6]

[మార్చు]మీడియాలో నీతాని కుకింగ్ ఎక్స్ పర్ట్, న్యూట్రీషన్ ఎక్స్ పర్ట్ అని వ్యవహరిస్తారు.[7][8] ఆమె రాసిన ఇండియన్ కుకింగ్ విత్ ఆలీవ్ ఆయిల్[8], వెజిటేరియన్ చైనీస్[9], జీరో ఆయిల్ కుకింగ్,[10] డయాబెటిస్ డెలికేషియస్,[11] 101 రెసిపీస్ ఫర్ చిల్డ్రన్,[12] ది బెస్ట్ ఆఫ్ చికెన్ అండ్ పనీర్[13][13] వంటి పుస్తకాలు కూడా బాగా అమ్ముడుపోయాయి. కొన్నేళ్ళ క్రితం వరకూ ప్రతీ పుస్తకాల దుకాణంలోనూ వంటకాల పుస్తకాల విభాగంలో ఆమె రచనలు, షెఫ్ సంజీవ్ కపూర్, తర్లా దలాల్ ల పుస్తకాలు మాత్రమే ఎక్కువగా లభించేవి. ప్రస్తుతం వీరి పుస్తకాలకు స్థానిక వంటకాల పుస్తకాల రచయితలు గట్టి పోటీనిస్తున్నారు.[1]
