తెలంగాణ లోని 17 లోక్‌సభ నియోజకవర్గాలలో ఇది ఒకటి. 2007లో చేయబడిన నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ ప్రకారము ఈ లోక్‌సభ నియోజక వర్గంలో 7 శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గములు ఉన్నాయి. అంతకు క్రితం ఉన్న ఆలంపూర్, గద్వాల, వనపర్తి నియోజకవర్గాలు నాగర్ కర్నూలు లోక్‌సభ నియోజకవర్గంలో కల్పబడింది. నాగర్ కర్నూలు నియోజకవర్గంలోని జడ్చర్ల, షాద్‌నగర్ శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గములు ప్రస్తుతం ఈ నియోజకవర్గంలో భాగమైనాయి. 2019 లో జరిగిన లోక్‌సభ ఎన్నికల్లో మన్నె శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి గెలుపొందాడు.

2004 ఎన్నికలు[మార్చు]
2004లో జరిగిన 14 వ లోక్‌సభ ఎన్నికలలో నియోజకవర్గం నుంచి కాంగ్రెస్ అభ్యర్థిగా పోటీ చేసిన డి.విఠల్‌రావు తన సమీప ప్రత్యర్థి అయిన తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ చెందిన ఎల్కోటి ఎల్లారెడ్డిపై 47907 ఓట్ల మెజారిటీతో గెలుపొందినాడు. ఆ సమయంలో తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీకి భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ మద్దతు ఇచ్చింది. అంతకు పూర్వం 1999లో జరిగిన లోక్‌సభ ఎన్నికలలో భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ అభ్యర్థి జితేందర్ రెడ్డి తెలుగుదేశం మద్దతుతో ఎన్నికయ్యాడు.

2009 ఎన్నికలు[మార్చు]
2009 ఎన్నికలలో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ తరఫున మళ్ళీ 2004లో విజయం సాధించిన డి.విఠల్ రావు పోటీ చేయగా[17] మహాకూటమి తరఫున తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర సమితి పార్టీ అధ్యక్షుడు కె.చంద్ర శేఖర్ రావు పోటీచేశాడు. హోరాహోరీగా జరిగిన ఎన్నికలలో తెరాస అధ్యక్షుడు కె.సి.ఆర్. తన సమీప ప్రత్యర్థి, కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ అభ్యర్థి అయిన విఠల్ రావుపై 20,184 ఓట్ల మెజారిటీతో విజయం సాధించాడు.

2024 పార్లమెంట్‌ ఎన్నికల్లో ఈ స్థానం నుండి మొత్తం 31 మంది పోటీలో ఉన్నారు.[18]
