అడ్రినలిన్ లేదా ఎపినెఫ్రీన్ శ్వాస ప్రక్రియ లాంటి శరీరాంతరంగ వ్యవస్థను నియంత్రించే ఒక హార్మోను, ఔషధం.[1][2] సాధారణంగా రెండు అడ్రినలిన్ గ్రంథులు, లేదా మజ్జాముఖము లేదా ఉపమస్తిష్కము అనబడే మెడుల్లా అబ్లాంగేటాలోని న్యూరాన్లు దీనిని ఉత్పత్తి చేస్తాయి.
ఇది చాలా జంతువుల్లో, కొన్ని ఏకకణజీవుల్లో కూడా కనిపిస్తుంది.[3][4] పోలిష్ శాస్త్రవేత్త నెపోలియన్ సైబుల్స్కి దీన్ని 1895లో మొట్టమొదటిసారిగా గుర్తించాడు.[5]
ఔషధంగా[మార్చు]
విపరీతమైన అలర్జీ, గుండెపోటు, ఉపరితల రక్తస్రావం లాంటి అనేక సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించడానికి దీనిని మందుగా వాడుతారు.[6]
