TAKKELLAPADU has a history of above 500 years with an area of 2 sq.km.

The population in the present year is about 10,000.The village,which is 5 km far from Guntur not yet developed from the decades.One face of the village meet NH-5 on which a nature park(NTR Manasa sarovar)is located. A Dental college and an I.T.I College is located on the other face of the village. The Siva temple beside a river was 150 years old which celebated 60+ ARTHROTSAVAMS with never ended passion and delight. The village environment can be seen with heard of cattle passing on the roads, devotional songs from the temple and crowd in the junctions. The main occupation of the people is cultivation. The main resource for cultivation is Krishna canal. The major crops are Tobacco, Paddy and Cotton.
