I have deleted the obvious advertisement portion of the article. But I dont have expertise on this subject to decide whether the rest of the article remaining has any useful information. Please read "Dravidian Languages (2003)" by Bhadriraju Krishnamurti for a comprehensive coverage on the history of Telugu language as well as the script.

Permission of Dr. Seshu M.R.Adluri

Requested Dr. Seshu Madhavarao Adluri for permission to use poems from his site and he generaously agreed. I am taking further liberty to take material and images from his elaborate essay. I think it does not violate copy rights & it is fairuse because the images are of age old inscriptions and quoted in many places.

అభ్యర్ధన

Dear Kaasubaabu and Adluri garu, Sometime back I waged a running battle with a bunch of Kannada fanatics in Wikipedia (English) to protect the articles on en:Telugu language, en:Telugu script etc. These persons considered Dr Adluri as unreliable source, branded him an ameteur computer science student and forced me to remove his inputs (Telugu script evolution charts) and his citation. Please see talk pages of these articles. You would get an idea of my struggle. If Dr Adluri can reintroduce the charts with supporting arguments it would be great. తెలుగు లో ముందు న పొల్లు లాంటి అక్షరాలు, చ ఛ మధ్యలో ఉన్న ఇంకో చ, ఇదీ విధమైన జ మొదలైన అక్షరాలు సామాన్య వాడకంలో నుంచి ఎప్పుడు, ఎలా, ఎందుకు దూరమయ్యాయ్ ? ప్రస్తుతమ్ ఎవరైనా ఈ అక్షరాలను ప్రయూగిస్తారా ? ఈ అక్షరాలు గురించి ఇంక వేరీవైన వివరాలు ఇస్తీ బాగుంటుంది ? ఈ అక్షరాలకు Free Image ఏమైనా ఉంటీ వ్యాసములో చెర్చొచ్చు.

వినోద్! మీ ప్రయత్నానికి అభినందనలు. నేను ఖచ్చితంగా ఈ విషయం చెప్పలేను కాని నాకు తెలిసింది వ్రాస్తున్నాను. ప్రస్తుతం ఈ రెండవ 'చ', రెండవ 'జ'లు వాడుకలో తగ్గిపోయాయి కాని అధికారికంగా తీసివేయలేదు. నేను వాడే పోతన కీబోర్డు మ్యాపింగ్‌లో ఈ అక్షరాలు ఉన్నాయి (right ALT + c)& (right ALT + j)- అవి ఇలా కనిపిస్తాయి. " ౘ " & " ౙ " (కొన్ని కంప్యూటర్లలో కనిపించవు). ప్రభుత్వ తెలుగు పాఠ్య పుస్తకాలలో కూడా వీటిని తొలగిస్తున్నారు ఎందుకంటే భాషను తేలిక చేసే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో (రెండక్షరాలు తగ్గితే లాభం ఏంటో నాకు అర్ధం కాలేదు). ఇక నకారం పొల్లు వా చిన్నప్పటినుండి (నా వయసు 48 యేళ్ళు) నుండి వాడుకలో లేదు. ్ బదులు అంతకు ముందు అక్షరంతో నకారం పొల్లు కలిపేసి "న్" అని వ్రాసే పద్ధతి వల్ల కావచ్చును. --కాసుబాబు - (నా చర్చా పేజీ) 19:36, 24 మే 2008 (UTC)

Omission of two soft consonants in the Classification Table.

Typically for the Telugu Language, there are two " soft " consonants, namely " cha " (ISO Notation '.c'), as in the words " CHAVI " (meaning Flavor or Taste) and " CHADUVU " (meaning Read or Study) and " ja " (ISO Notation '.ja'), as in the words " JAABILI " or " JAABILLI " (meaning the Moon) and " JAALI " (meaning Compassion or Kindness). Although these two have been cited already in the earlier text listing the consonants, the same have been omitted in the later Classification Table, perhaps inadvertently. The two are to be classified under 'DANTA-TAALAVYA' ('DENTO-PALATAL') Category. Several Telugu speaking people too are quite ignorant of these two middle consonants in the series and pronounce with the usual first 'hard' letters as ' ca ' and ' ja ' and they sound quite awkward.--107.217.164.208 23:53, 6 జనవరి 2020 (UTC)
