ఒక వ్యక్తి జెండర్ ఐడెంటిటీ, తను పుట్టినపుడు గుర్తించిన లింగంతో సరిపోలక పోవడం వలన అనుభవించే వేదనని వైద్యపరిభాషలో జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా అని అంటారు. సాధారణంగా ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్ వ్యక్తులు జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియాతో బాధపడుతుంటారు.[5]

గుర్తుంచుకోవాల్సిన విషయం ఏమంటే పుట్టినపుడు గుర్తించిన లింగానికి అనుగుణంగా వ్యవహరించకపోవడం జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా కాదు.[6] అమెరికన్ సైకియాట్రిక్ అసోసియేషన్ చెప్పే దాని ప్రకారం ఒక వ్యక్తి వైద్యపరంగా ముఖ్యమైన వేదనని దీనివలన అనుభవించినపుడు మాత్రమే అది జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియాగా పరిగణించబడుతుంది.[1]

కవలలపై జరిపిన అధ్యయనాల ప్రకారం తెలియవస్తున్నది ఏమంటే జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియాకి పుట్టిపెరిగిన వాతావరణంతో పాటు జన్యుపరమైన కారణాలు కూడా ఉన్నాయి.[7][8]

ఈ రుగ్మత ఉన్న వ్యక్తులకు చికిత్సగా వాళ్ళ మనసు చెప్పే జెండర్ ని అవలంభించేందుకు కావాల్సిన ఆసరాని కల్పించడం లాంటివి చెయ్యవచ్చు. హార్మోన్ థెరపీ, కొన్ని సర్జరీలను ఈ చికిత్సలో భాగంగా ఉపయోగించవచ్చు. [2][3] ఇవే కాకుండా కౌన్సిలింగ్, సైకోథెరపీ కూడా ఈ చికిత్సలో భాగంగా ఉండవచ్చు.[3]

గుర్తులూ లక్షణాలూ[మార్చు]

పుట్టినపుడు మగ శిశువుగా గుర్తించిన వారికి వచ్చే జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియాని సాధారణంగా రెండు వర్గాలుగా వర్గీకరించవచ్చు, ఒకటి చిన్నతనంలో వచ్చేది, రెండోది కౌమారంలో వచ్చేది. చిన్నతనంలో మొదలయ్యే జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా, సాధారణంగా ఆ పిల్లల నడవడికలో స్పష్టంగా కనిపిస్తుంది. వీళ్ళు సాధారణంగా మగవాళ్ళకి లైంగికంగా ఆకర్షితులు అవుతారు. అయితే కౌమార్యంలో మొదలయ్యే జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా గుర్తులు మాత్రం సాధారణంగా చిన్నతనంలో కనిపించవు కానీ ఇతర లింగానికి చెందిన వారిలా ఉండాలి అనే కోరికలు రహస్యంగా చిన్నతనంలో ఉన్నట్టు కొంతమంది అంటుంటారు. వీళ్ళు సాధారణంగా ఆడవాళ్ళకి లైంగికంగా ఆకర్షితులౌతారు. పుట్టినపుడు ఆడ శిశువుగా గుర్తించిన వారికి వచ్చే జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా మాత్రం సాధారణంగా చిన్నతనంలోనే మొదలౌతుంది. వీళ్ళు కూడా సాధారణంగా ఆడవారికి లైంగికంగా ఆకర్షితులౌతారు.[9][10]

ఇతర లింగానికి చెందిన పిల్లలు మామూలుగా ఆడుకునే బొమ్మలు, ఆటలు ఆడాలనుకోవడం, వారి స్వంత జననాంగాలపై విపరీతమైన ద్వేషం ఉండటం లాంటివి చిన్నపిల్లలలో జెండర్ డిస్ఫోరియా లక్షణాలు.[11] ఈ సమస్య ఉన్న కొంతమంది పిల్లలను ఇతర పిల్లలు దూరం పెట్టడం, ఒంటరితనం, డిప్రెషన్ లాంటివి మానసికంగా కృంగదీయవచ్చు.[4] అమెరికన్ సైకలాజికల్ అసోసియేషన్ ప్రకారం ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్ పిల్లలు వాళ్ళు చదువుకునే స్కూల్లు, ఇతర ప్రదేశాలలో విపరీతమైన వివక్ష, వేధింపులు, హింసని ఎదుర్కోవాల్సి వస్తోంది.[12]
