భారత నావికా దళానికి చెందిన తూర్పునావికాదళం Eastern naval Command దీని ప్రధాన స్థావరం విశాఖపట్టణం .[2] It, కోల్‌కతా మరో ముఖ్యమైన స్థావరం . ఇది భారతదేశపు మొదటి, పెద్ద నావికాదళం.[3]

తూర్పు నావికాదళ ప్రధాన అధికారికింద తూర్పు నావికాదళ అధికారి,జలాంతర్గాములదళాధిపతి, విశాఖపట్టణం డాక్ యార్డు సూపరిండెంట్, ఐదుగురు ఇంచార్జ్ నావికాదళ అధికారులు ఉంటారు.

తూర్పునావికాదళం పరిధిలో ఆంధ్రపదేశ్, ఒడిస్సా, పశ్చిమబెంగాల్, తమిళనాడు రాష్ట్రాలు, అండమాన్నికోబార్ దీవులు ఉన్నాయి.[4]

The FOC-in-C (East) is the submarine operating authority, under whom Commodore Commanding Submarines (East) [COMCOS (E)] operate. The 11th (Sindhughosh class submarine) and 8th (Foxtrot class) Submarine Squadrons operate under COMCOS (E). INS Virbahu, a submarine base commissioned on 19 May 1971, is the alma matar of the Indian Navy submariners.

తూర్పు నావికాదళ స్థావరాలు

విశాఖపట్టణం ప్రధానస్థావరం రెండు అణుజలాంతర్గాములకు వ్యూహాత్మక ముఖ్యస్థానంగా ఉంది. అధికమైన నౌకల రద్ది, స్థలాభావం చేత విశాఖపట్టణం ప్రధానస్థావరానికి అనుబంధంగా 20 చదరపు కిలోమీటర్ల విస్తీర్ణంతో విశాఖపట్టణానికి దక్షిణాన 50 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఐ ఎన్ ఎస్ వర్ష అనే మరో స్థావరాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేయడమైనది.

తూర్పునావికా దళ నౌకలు కోల్‌కతా, పరాదీప్, కాకినాడ చెన్నై, అండమాన్ నికోబార్ దీవులలో గల స్థావరాలలో ఉంటూ భారతదేశా తూరపుతీరాన్ని గస్తీకాస్తాయి. నావికాదళం తాజాగా ఐ ఇన్ ఎస్ బాజ్ అనే వాయు స్థావరాన్ని ప్ర్రారంభించింది.

2005 సంవత్సరంలో తూర్పు నావికాదళానికి 30 యుద్ధనౌకలు ఉన్నాయి. ఐ ఎన్ ఎస్ జలాశ్వ బంగాళాఖాతాన్ని గస్తీ కాసే ప్రధాన యుద్ధ నౌక. తూర్పు నావికాదళం జలాంతర్గాముల స్థావరాలు, మరమ్మత్తు నౌకాశ్రయాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఐ ఎన్ ఎస్ జలాశ్వతో పాటు 5 రాజ్‌పుత్ శ్రేణి నౌకలు, 4 కోరా శ్రేణి నౌకలు, 3 గోదావరి శ్రేణి యుద్ధ నౌకలు, 3 శివాలిక్ శ్రేణి నౌకలు, అకులా శ్రేణి జలాంతర్గామి ఐ ఎన్ ఎస్ చక్ర, సీకింగ్ హెలీకాప్టర్ లు, ఇతరత్రా చిన్న చిన్న గస్తీ నావలతో మొత్తం 52 నావలు 2012 సంవత్సరం నాటికి ఉన్నాయి.
