జార్జి వాషింగ్టన్ (ఫిబ్రవరి 22, 1732 – డిసెంబరు 14, 1799) అమెరికాకు మొట్ట మొదటి అధ్యక్షుడు. గ్రేట్ బ్రిటన్ సామ్రాజ్యం మీద యుద్ధంలో అమెరికన్ సైన్యాన్ని విజయపథంలో నడిపించినందుకుగాను ఆయన్ను ఈ పదవి వరించింది.

వాషింగ్టన్ అమెరికన్ విప్లవ దళాల ముఖ్య అధికారిగా 1775లో ఎన్నుకోబడ్డాడు. తరువాతి సంవత్సరమే బ్రిటీష్ వారిని బోస్టన్ నుంచి తరిమికొట్టడంలోసఫలీకృతుడయ్యాడు. అయితే అదే సంవత్సరం తరువాయి భాగంలో న్యూయార్క్ నగరాన్ని కోల్పోవడంతో ఓటమి పాలయ్యాడు.
