తేజ్ తాడి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం, హైదరాబాద్‌ నగరంలోని వైద్యుల కుటుంబంలో జన్మించాడు. ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ ఇంజనీరింగ్ చదివిన తేజ్, 2004లో తన పిహెచ్.డి. చదువుకోసం స్విట్జర్లాండ్‌కు వెళ్ళాడు. ఆక్కడ ఎకోల్ పాలిటెక్నిక్ ఫెడరల్ డి లౌసాన్ నుండి అందుకున్నాడు. న్యూరల్ మెకానిజమ్స్ ఆఫ్ ది ఎంబాడీడ్ సెల్ఫ్: మెర్జింగ్ వర్చువల్ రియాలిటీ అండ్ ఎలక్ట్రికల్ న్యూరోఇమేజింగ్ అనే అంశంపై పరిశోధన చేశాడు. బ్రెయిన్ ఫోరమ్ అంతర్జాతీయ సలహా బోర్డులో సభ్యుడిగా ఉన్నాడు.[2]
