పోతురాజు జడ్సన్ తెలంగాణకు చెందిన శాస్త్రవేత్త.[1] 1970లలో డైస్‌డెర్కస్ సింగ్యులాటస్‌పై అనేక పరిశోధనలు చేశాడు.[2]
జననం[మార్చు]
పోతురాజు జడ్సన్ 1950, జూలై 28న తెలంగాణలోని హైదరాబాదు నగరంలో జన్మించాడు.
బోధనారంగం[మార్చు]
1956 యూనివర్సిటీ గ్రాంట్స్ కమీషన్ చట్టం ప్రకారం[3] ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో జంతుశాస్త్రం[4] బోధించాడు. ఇండియన్ సొసైటీ ఫర్ కంపారిటివ్ యానిమల్ ఫిజియాలజీలో సభ్యుడిగా కూడా ఉన్నాడు.[5]
ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలోని జంతుశాస్త్ర విభాగంలో[6] లెక్చరర్ గా, రీడర్ గా,[7] తర్వాత ప్రొఫెసర్, శాఖాధిపతిగా,[8] బోర్డ్ ఆఫ్ స్టడీస్[9] ఛైర్‌పర్సన్ ఆఫ్ జువాలజీ[10] గా పనిచేశాడు. అంతకుముందు 1997లో,[11] సైఫాబాద్‌లోని యూనివర్సిటీ కాలేజ్ ఆఫ్ సైన్స్‌కి ప్రిన్సిపాల్[12][13][14] గా చేశాడు.
పరిశోధన[మార్చు]
జడ్సన్ వ్యాసాలు అనేక పత్రికలలో ప్రచురించబడ్డాయి. 1978లో ప్రచురించబడిన జడ్సన్ పరిశోధనా కథనాలలో ఒకటైన[15] బి. కిషన్ రావు, ఎస్ఎస్ ఠాకూర్, బి. జూయిలస్ దివాకర్‌లతో కలిసి ఎర్ర కాటన్ బగ్, డైస్‌డెర్కస్ సింగ్యులాటస్ (హెటెరోప్టెరా) పురుష పునరుత్పత్తి అవయవాలపై బాల్య హార్మోన్ అనలాగ్ ప్రభావాలు, సైంటిఫిక్ జర్నల్ ఎక్స్‌పీరియంటియా (సెల్యులార్ అండ్ మాలిక్యులర్ లైఫ్ సైన్సెస్ )[15] అనేది ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు,[16] అకాడమీలలో 500 కంటే ఎక్కువ[16] లైబ్రరీ హోల్డింగ్‌లలో ఉంచబడింది.[16] జర్మన్ అకడమిక్ జర్నల్ జైట్‌స్క్రిఫ్ట్ ఫర్ డై ఆల్టెస్టమెంట్లిచ్ విస్సెన్‌చాఫ్ట్ కి[17] పరిశోధనా కథనాన్ని అందించాడు.[17]
2007లో ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ జంతుశాస్త్ర విభాగం, సలీమ్ అలీ సెంటర్ ఫర్ ఆర్నిథాలజీ అండ్ నేచురల్ హిస్టరీ సంయుక్తంగా నిర్వహించిన బయోడైవర్సిటీ కన్జర్వేషన్ అండ్ హ్యూమన్ వెల్-బీయింగ్ పై జరిగిన జాతీయ సదస్సు నిర్వహణలో సహకారం అందించాడు.[18] 2008లో బయోడైవర్సిటీ కన్జర్వేషన్ అండ్ హ్యూమన్ వెల్-బీయింగ్ అనే సంకలనానికి సహ-సంపాదకత్వం వహించాడు.[19] 2009లో [20] సర్ రోనాల్డ్ రాస్ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ పారాసిటాలజీలో దోమల వల్ల కలిగే వ్యాధులు, ప్రజారోగ్యంపై దాని ప్రభావం[20] వాతావరణ మార్పుల ప్రభావం అనే అంశంపై జాతీయ సింపోజియంను ఏర్పాటుచేశాడు.[20]
సామాజిక కార్యక్రమాలు[మార్చు]
2010వ దశకంలో కెనడియన్ బాప్టిస్ట్ మినిస్ట్రీస్[21] ద్వారా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, తెలంగాణ, ఒడిశా రాష్ట్రాలలో సామాజిక కార్యాచరణ కార్యక్రమాలను చేపట్టాడు. అందులో ఫీల్డ్ స్టాఫ్,[22] టీమ్ మెంబర్‌గా ఉన్నాడు.[21] జడ్సన్ యూరోపియన్ బాప్టిస్ట్ మిషన్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ప్రస్తుత భారతదేశ ప్రతినిధి[23] దేశంలోని 16 మంది భాగస్వాములతో కలిసి సామాజిక కార్యాచరణ కార్యక్రమాలను పర్యవేక్షిస్తున్నాడు.[24][25]
