మహ్మద్ హబీబ్ (1949, జూలై 17 - 2023, ఆగస్టు 15) తెలంగాణకు చెందిన ఫుట్‌బాల్ ఆటగాడు, కెప్టెన్. భారత జాతీయ ఫుట్‌బాల్ జట్టుకు ఫార్వర్డ్‌గా ఆడాడు.[2] భారతదేశ అత్యుత్తమ ఫుట్‌బాల్ క్రీడాకారులలో ఒకడిగా గుర్తింపు పొందాడు.[3]

మహ్మద్ హబీబ్ 1949, జూలై 17l తెలంగాణలోని హైదరాబాదులో జన్మించాడు.

క్లబ్ కెరీర్[మార్చు]

1968లో హబీబ్ కలకత్తా ఫుట్‌బాల్ లీగ్ క్లబ్ మోహన్ బగాన్‌లో చేరాడు. "డైమండ్ కోచ్" అమల్ దత్తా,[4] ఆధ్వర్యంలో ఆడాడు. ఫైనల్‌లో ఈస్ట్ బెంగాల్‌పై 3-1 విజయంతో 1969 ఐఎఫ్ఏ షీల్డ్‌ను గెలుచుకున్నాడు.[5]

తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రానికి చెందినప్పటికీ, ఇతను సంతోష్ ట్రోఫీలో బెంగాల్‌కు ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహించాడు.[6] 1969లో బెంగాల్‌తో శాంటో మిత్ర, హబీబ్ నేతృత్వంలోని జట్టు టైటిల్ గెలుచుకుంది.[7] మద్రాస్, సర్వీసెస్‌పై రెండు హ్యాట్రిక్‌లతో సహా పదకొండు గోల్‌లతో టాప్ స్కోరర్‌గా నిలిచాడు.[7]

హబీబ్ అంతర్జాతీయ టోర్నమెంట్లలో భారత జాతీయ జట్టుకు ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహించాడు. 1970 బ్యాంకాక్‌లో జరిగిన ఆసియా క్రీడలలో సయ్యద్ నయీముద్దీన్ నేతృత్వంలో,[8][9] పికె బెనర్జీ నిర్వహించిన జట్టుతో కలిసి కాంస్య పతకాన్ని గెలుచుకున్నాడు.[10][11][12]

నిర్వాహక వృత్తి[మార్చు]

ఫుట్‌బాల్ ఆడిన తర్వాత, హబీబ్ టాటా ఫుట్‌బాల్ అకాడమీకి కోచ్ అయ్యాడు. హల్దియాలోని ఇండియన్ ఫుట్‌బాల్ అసోసియేషన్ అకాడమీకి చీఫ్ కోచ్‌గా కూడా పనిచేశాడు.[13]

1999 నుండి 2000, 2000-2003, 2005 వరకు జరిగిన దేశీయ పోటీలలో మొహమ్మదీన్ స్పోర్టింగ్‌కు మార్గనిర్దేశం చేశాడు.[14][15] 2007 నుండి 2008 వరకు ముంబై ఫుట్‌బాల్ లీగ్‌లో బెంగాల్ ముంబై ఎఫ్.సి.ని కూడా నిర్వహించాడు.[16][17]
