భారత జాతీయ కాంగ్రెస్ మెజారిటీ సీట్లు గెలుచుకుంది. శివాజీరావు పాటిల్ నీలంగేకర్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి అయ్యాడు. శంకర్రావు చిమాజీ జగతాప్ స్పీకర్ అయ్యాడు. శరద్ పవార్ ప్రతిపక్ష నాయకుడయ్యాడు.[2]
