గీతా గోపీనాథ్ (జననం 1971 డిసెంబరు 8) భారతీయ-అమెరికన్ ఆర్థికవేత్త. ఆమె 2019 నుండి అంతర్జాతీయ ద్రవ్య నిధికి [1] [2] ఛీఫ్ ఎకనమిస్టుగా ఉంది. ఆ పదవిలో ఆమె ఐ.ఎం.ఎఫ్. పరిశోధన విభాగానికి డైరెక్టర్, ఫండ్ ఆర్థిక సలహాదారుగా ఉంది.

గీతా గోపీనాథ్ 1971 డిసెంబర్ 8న భారతదేశంలోని కోల్‌కతాలో మలయాళీ కుటుంబంలో జన్మించింది. [13] [14] ఆమె టీవీ గోపీనాథ్‌, వీసీ విజయలక్ష్మి దంపతులకు గల ఇద్దరు కుమార్తెల్లో ఆమె రెండవది. [15] ఆమె కుటుంబం దివంగత ఎకె గోపాలన్‌ కు బంధుత్వం కలిగి ఉంది . [16]

గోపీనాథ్ మైసూర్‌లోని నిర్మలా కాన్వెంట్ స్కూల్‌లో చదివింది. [17] [18] ఆమె 1992లో ఢిల్లీ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నకు చెందిన లేడీ శ్రీరాం కాలేజ్ ఫర్ ఉమెన్ కళాశాల నుండి బి.ఎ డిగ్రీ పొందింది. 1994లో ఢిల్లీ విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి చెందిన ఢిల్లీ స్కూల్ ఆఫ్ ఎకనమిక్స్ నుండి ఎం.ఏ డిగ్రీ పూర్తి చేసింది. ఆమె 1996లో యూనివర్శిటీ ఆఫ్ వాషింగ్టన్‌లో ఎం.ఏ డిగ్రీని పూర్తి చేసింది. ఆమె బెన్ బెర్నాంకే, కెన్నెత్ రోగోఫ్‌ల పర్యవేక్షణలో "అంతర్జాతీయ మూలధన ప్రవాహాలపై మూడు వ్యాసాలు: శోధన సిద్ధాంత విధానం" అనే శీర్షికతో డాక్టరల్ పరిశోధనను పూర్తి చేసిన తర్వాత 2001లో ప్రిన్స్‌టన్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుండి ఆర్థికశాస్త్రంలో పి.హెచ్.డి చేసింది.
