టెలిపతీ లేదా భావ గ్రాహక ప్రసారణ శక్తి (గ్రీకులో టెలీ అంటే దూరంగా ఉన్న అనీ, పాతోస్ అంటే అనుభూతి లేదా అనుభవం అని అర్థం) [1][2] అంటే ఎటువంటి జ్ఞానేంద్రియాలను వాడకుండా ఒక వ్యక్తి నుండి మరో వ్యక్తికి సమాచారాన్ని చేరవేయడం. ఈ పదాన్ని మొట్టమొదటి సారిగా ఫ్రెడరిక్ మయ్యర్స్ అనే మానసిక శాస్త్ర  పరిశోధకుడు, పండితుడు మొట్టమొదటిసారిగా 1882 లో ప్రయోగించాడు.[3] అంతకుముందు ఇలాంటి భావనలను పేర్కొనేందుకు థాట్ ట్రాన్స్ ఫర్ అనే పేరు ఉండేది. ఈ పేరు దానికన్నా ప్రాచుర్యం పొందింది.[4][5]

టెలిపతీ అనేది నిజం అనడానికి శాస్త్రీయమైన ఆధారాలు లేవు. దీన్ని కనుక్కోవడానికి, అర్థం చేసుకోవడానికి, వాడుకోవడానికి ఎన్నో ప్రయోగాలు చేశారు. కానీ వేటిలోనూ సమానమైన ఫలితాలు కనిపించలేదు.[6][7][8][9] దీన్ని కాల్పనిక సాహిత్యంలో కథానాయకులకు, సూపర్ హీరోలకు ఆపాదిస్తూ అనేక రచనలు వచ్చాయి.

పాశ్చాత్య నాగరికతలో టెలిపతీకి 19వ శతాబ్దపు రెండో అర్ధబాగంలో బీజం పడిందని చెప్పవచ్చు.[10] భౌతిక శాస్త్రంలో శక్తివంతమైన ఆవిష్కరణలు జరగడంతో కొన్ని శాస్త్రీయ విషయాలను మానసిక పరిస్థితులకు (ఉదా. జంతువులలో అయస్కాంత శక్తి) కూడా అన్వయించడం ప్రారంభించారు. దీని ద్వారా విపరీత మానసిక ప్రవర్తనలను అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చని భావించారు. టెలిపతీ ఒక ఆధునిక భావనగా ఇక్కడే ఆవిష్కృతమైంది.[10]

టెలీపతీ అనేది ఎవరో తమలో ఆలోచనలు ప్రేరేపిస్తున్నారనో, లేదా ఆలోచనలు తీసివేస్తున్నారనే భావన కన్నా కొత్తదేం కాదు. కానీ దీనివల్ల ఒక వ్యక్తి టెలీపతీకి గురవుతున్నారా లేదా అని నిర్ధారించవచ్చు. ఆలోచనలు చొప్పించడం లేదా తీసివేయడం అనేది సైకోసిస్ లేదా ఇంకా కచ్చితంగా చెప్పాలంటే స్కిజోఫ్రీనియా అనే మానసిక వ్యాధికి సూచన.[11] దీని భాదితులు కొన్ని ఆలోచనలు తమవి కావనీ, ఎవరో (ఇతర వ్యక్తులు, గ్రహాంతర వాసులు, దయ్యాలు లేదా దేవతలు, గూఢచారి సంస్థలు) తమలో కొన్ని ఆలోచనల్ని ప్రవేశపెడుతున్నారని భావిస్తుంటారు. మరికొంతమంది తమలో ఆలోచనలు తొలగిస్తున్నారని భావిస్తుంటారు. ఈ లక్షణాలన్నింటినీ యాంటీసైకోటిక్ మందుల ద్వారా తగ్గించుకోవచ్చు. సైకియాట్రిస్టులు, క్లినికల్ సైకాలజిస్టులు కొన్ని పరిశోధనా ఫలితాల ఆధారంగా స్కైజోటైపీ అనే మానసికవ్యాధి ఉన్నవారు టెలీపతీని నమ్ముతారని విశ్వసిస్తున్నారు.[12][13][14]

ఆలోచనలు చదవడం[మార్చు]

19 వ శతాబ్దపు చివరి భాగంలో వాషింగ్టన్ ఇర్వింగ్ బిషప్ అనే ఇంద్రజాలికుడు ఇతరుల మనసులోని ఆలోచనలు చదవడం లేదా గ్రహించడం అనే భావనమీద ప్రదర్శనలు ఇచ్చేవాడు. కానీ బిషప్ మాత్రం తనకు ఏ విధమైన మానవాతీత శక్తులు లేవని తాను కేవలం కండరాలు కదలిక (అసంకల్పితంగా శరీరంలో కనిపించే కదలికలు) ద్వారా ఆలోచనలు గ్రహిస్తున్నానని తెలియ జేశాడు.[15] బిషప్ ను బ్రిటిష్ మెడికల్ జర్నల్ సంపాదకుడితో కూడిన కొంతమంది వైద్యుల బృందం, ఫ్రాన్సిస్ గాల్టన్ అనే మానసిక వైద్యుడు పరీక్షించారు. బిషప్ ఒక టేబుల్ పై అవతలి వ్యక్తి మనసులో తలుచుకున్న ప్రదేశాన్ని కనిపెట్టడం, దాచిన వస్తువును కనుగొనడం లాంటి కొన్ని విజయవంతమైన ప్రదర్శనలు ఇచ్చాడు. కానీ ప్రయోగం జరిగేటప్పడు బిషప్ అవతలి వ్యక్తి శరీరాన్ని తాకేవాడు. వారి చేతిని, మణికట్టును పరీక్షించేవాడు. కానీ శాస్త్రజ్ఞులు మాత్రం బిషప్ నిజమైన టెలిపాత్ కాదనీ, అతను కేవలం శరీర కదలికలను పరీక్షించే నైపుణ్యంతో ఆ విధంగా కనుగొన గలుగుతున్నాడని తేల్చారు.[16]
