వాతావరణం : (ఆంగ్లం : atmosphere) : ద్రవ్యరాశి కలిగిన ఒక శరీరం చుట్టూ వాయువులతో కూడిన పొరను వాతావరణం అంటారు.[1] ఈ శరీరానికి వున్న ఆకర్షణ శక్తి ఎక్కువగానూ, వత్తిడి తక్కువగానూ ఉన్న మూలంగా, వాతావరణ పొర ఆ శరీరానికి అంటిపెట్టుకొని వుంటుంది. కొన్ని గ్రహాలు తమ వాతావరణంలో అనేక వాయువులను కలిగివుంటాయి.
భూమిపై వాతావరణం
భూ-వాతావరణం లో (భూమిపైనుండి) వరుసగా క్రింది పొరలున్నాయి.
- ట్రోపో ఆవరణం
- స్ట్రాటో ఆవరణం
- మిసో ఆవరణం
- ఉష్ణ ఆవరణం (ఇందులో అయానో ఆవరణం మరియు ఎక్సో ఆవరణం వుంటాయి)
- మరియు అయస్కాంత ఆవరణం.
ప్రతి ఆవరణానికి వేరువేరు ల్యాప్స్ రేటులు వుంటాయి, ఈ ల్యాప్స్ రేటు వలన ఎత్తు పెరిగే కొలదీ ఉష్ణోగ్రతలో మార్పులు వుంటాయి.
