మరియా అరోరా కౌటో ఒక భారతీయ రచయిత్రి, గోవాకు చెందిన విద్యావేత్త. ఆమె గోవా: ఎ డాటర్స్ స్టోరీ అనే పుస్తకానికి బాగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. ఆమె ఉత్తర గోవా గ్రామమైన అల్డోనాలో నివసిస్తోంది. ఆమె డిడి కోశాంబి ఫెస్టివల్ ఆఫ్ ఐడియాస్ ప్రారంభించడంలో సహాయపడింది, గోవా విశ్వవిద్యాలయం కార్యకలాపాల్లో పాల్గొంది.

కౌటో కుటుంబం బామోన్ సమాజానికి చెందినది. ఆమె తల్లిదండ్రులు ఫ్రాన్సిస్కో (చికో) ఫిగ్యుయిరెడో, ఫిలోమినా బోర్జెస్ ఇద్దరూ సాల్సెట్ కు చెందినవారు. ఆమె చిన్నతనంలో తన తల్లిదండ్రులు, ఆరుగురు తోబుట్టువులతో ధార్వాడ్ కు వెళ్లింది. [1] కౌటో లేడీ శ్రీ రామ్ కాలేజ్ ఢిల్లీ , డెంపే కాలేజ్ పనాజీ కళాశాలలలో ఆంగ్ల సాహిత్యాన్ని బోధించడానికి వెళ్ళింది. [2]
ఆమె భర్త అల్బానో కౌటో ఇండియన్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేటివ్ సర్వీస్ కు చెందినవాడు. ఆల్బానో కౌటో జూన్ 2009లో మరణించాడు. [3]
