ఆర్యభట అవార్డు లేదా ఆర్యభట్ట అవార్డు అనేది వార్షిక పురస్కారం. ఇది భారతదేశంలో వ్యోమగాములు, అంతరిక్ష సాంకేతిక రంగంలో గుర్తించదగిన జీవితకాల సహకారం అందించిన వ్యక్తులకు ప్రదానం చేయబడుతుంది.[1][2]

దీనిని 1958 నుండి అంతర్జాతీయ ఖగోళ సమాఖ్య సభ్యదేశంగా ఉన్న ఆస్ట్రోనటికల్ సొసైటీ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (ASI) స్థాపించింది.[3][4][5] ఈ అవార్డును సాధారణంగా ప్రధానమంత్రి కార్యాలయ సహాయ మంత్రి అందజేస్తారు. ఇందులో ప్రశంసాపత్రం తో పాటు ₹ లక్ష (₹100,000) ఉంటుంది.

చరిత్ర

ఈ అవార్డుకు ఐదవ శతాబ్దపు భారతీయ ఖగోళ శాస్త్రవేత్త, గణిత శాస్త్రవేత్త ఆర్యభట్ట పేరు పెట్టారు, అతని జ్ఞాపకార్థం మొదటి భారతీయ ఉపగ్రహం పేరును ఆర్యభట్ట (19 ఏప్రిల్ 1975న ప్రారంభించబడింది) గా నామకరణం చేసారు.[6]
