మూస:Uw-spamublock
Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username or edits suggest that you are editing for publicity and/or promotional purposes, or on behalf of a company or other organization. For example:
Wikipedia is not a means of promotion and your account mustn't be shared with other people. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, or your edits are not intended as promotional, you may be allowed to edit, but you will have to change your username first, and comply with our key editing policies. |
- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from writing about themselves on Wikipedia or requesting others to do so. This is because self-interested and paid-for edits tend to fail our standards for neutrality and content, and are often not suitable for our encyclopedia. So it also creates extra work, pulls editors away from more useful editing, and usually our policies require us to delete the added content anyway.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can convince us that you have an interest in other edits, or that any future editing will be in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of questions asked by people in your position. Also, review our conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- I want to make a correction or improvement, or fix something, or there's a problem in an article
We will always take seriously, reader reports about possible unlawful content, defamation, minors at risk, copyright violation (and permission to use copyrighted media on Wikipedia), article corrections, and privacy breach. If these are all you need, you can contact a suitable volunteer team here, or for emergency removal of privacy, defamation or copyright violating content see here.
If you want any other kind of improvement or change to be made to an article, or any other concern to be considered, please see What can I do now? below.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you might consider using one of many other websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, or you believe your editing will improve an article, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it and that your edits will make a real improvement in some area of coverage, or fix some real problem (however minor), and are not just promotional. If the reason is genuine and sincere, or the block was due to a genuine misunderstanding of our requirements, you may be allowed another chance. You will also need to rename your account to meet our username policy. We will only consider requests to change an article if the changes meet our site policies. As a simple guide, requests of a promotional nature are almost always refused, but genuine errors, omissions, unbalanced and non-neutral coverage, outdated facts, substandard coverage of a living person, genuine intent to edit appropriately, and genuine improvements to our pages and content – even if minor – may sometimes be accepted if other editors agree with you:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits or issues for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Uw-spamublock}} ). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
If you plan to make breaking changes to this template, move it, or nominate it for deletion, please notify Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle as a courtesy, as the standard installation of Twinkle adds and removes this template. Thank you! |
- This template has been carefully designed based on guidelines by the user warnings project.
- Please refer to the index of message templates before using any template on user talk pages to warn a user. Applying the best template available for your purpose may help reduce confusion from the message you are sending. Note: Only administrators can block users; adding a block template does not constitute a block. See RFAA to request that a user be blocked.
- Please remember to substitute the template by using
{{subst:Uw-spamublock}}
rather than{{Uw-spamublock}}
. - Although this template must be substituted in the user talk page, it has also been designed to display properly when substitution is not possible.
- This template uses a parser function. To give greater detail to your message, you may specify: the block duration, a specific reason for the block, and auto-include your signature.
{{subst:Uw-spamublock|anon=yes|time=Duration|reason=For a different reason|notalk=yes|page=Targeted page|sig=yes}}
- Notes:
- If you do not set a block expiry, replace
time=Duration
withindef=yes
. - An already indefinite block template does not require the
time
orindef
parameters. - If not blocking an anonymous user, omit the
anon
parameter. - Include the
page
parameter to refer to a page on which the conduct supporting the block occurred. - The
notalk
parameter should always be omitted unless the user cannot edit their own talk page. - The optional
for
parameter can be used if the word "for" before the block reason doesn't grammatically work. For example, iffor=per
is written, the block notice will say "blocked from editing per". Don't use this parameter if you don't want to change the word "for". - The following templates redirect here and may also be used:
- If you do not set a block expiry, replace
