మోలీ డే థాచర్ 1906, డిసెంబరు 16న ఎమ్మా సిసిలియా (నీ ఎర్కెన్‌బ్రేచర్) - న్యాయవాది ఆల్ఫ్రెడ్ బ్యూమాంట్ థాచెర్ దంపతులకు సౌత్ ఆరెంజ్, న్యూజెర్సీలో[1][2] జన్మించింది.[3][4]

వాస్సార్ కళాశాల నుండి పట్టభద్రురాలయిన మోలీ, యేల్ డ్రామా స్కూల్‌లో రెండు సంవత్సరాలపాటు చదువుకుంది.

యేల్ డ్రామా స్కూల్‌లో ఎలియా కజాన్‌ కలిశాడు.[2] మోలీ కొంతకాలం ఎలియా స్నేహితుడు, రూమ్‌మేట్ అలాన్ బాక్స్‌టర్‌తో డేటింగ్ చేసింది.[5][6]

1932లో ఎలియా కజాన్ ని వివాహం చేసుకున్నది.[2][7] వారికి నాటక రచయిత నికోలస్ కజాన్‌తోపాటు నలుగురు పిల్లలు,[8] నటీమణులు జో కజాన్, మాయ కజాన్ మనవరాళ్ళు ఉన్నారు.[9]

వృత్తి జీవితం[మార్చు]

1949లో "క్వీన్ ఆఫ్ షెబా" అనే సంగీతానికి సంబంధించిన పుస్తకం రాసింది.[2] 1957లో ది ఎగ్‌హెడ్ నాటకాన్ని రాసింది. హ్యూమ్ క్రోనిన్ దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఈ నాటకం బ్రాడ్‌వేలో ఎథెల్ బారీమోర్ థియేటర్‌లో ఇరవై ఒక్క ప్రదర్శనల జరుపుకుంది.[10][11][12][13] 1960లో రోజ్మేరీ, ది ఎలిగేటర్ అనే ఏకపాత్ర నాటకాలను రాసింది.[2][14][15][16]

మోలీ చాలా సంవత్సరాలపాటు యాక్టర్స్ స్టూడియోకు చెందిన నాటక రచన విభాగానికి అధిపతిగా పనిచేసింది.[2][17][18] 1962 మేలో రాజీనామా చేసింది.

మోలీ తన 57వ పుట్టినరోజుకు రెండురోజుల ముందు 1963, డిసెంబరు 14న సెరిబ్రల్ హెమరేజ్ కారణంగా న్యూయార్క్ నగరంలోని బెల్లేవ్ హాస్పిటల్‌లో మరణించింది.[2][19] సెయింట్ క్లెమెంట్స్ ప్రొటెస్టంట్ ఎపిస్కోపల్ చర్చిలో జరిగిన అంత్యక్రియలకు 400 మందికిపైగా హాజరయ్యారు.[8]
