రిమా దాస్ అస్సాం రాష్ట్రానికి చెందిన సినిమా దర్శకురాలు, నిర్మాత, ఎడిటర్.[1] 2017లో వచ్చిన విలేజ్ రాక్స్టార్స్ సినిమా ద్వారా ప్రసిద్ధి పొందింది. ఈ సినిమా అనేక జాతీయ, అంతర్జాతీయ అవార్డులను గెలుచుకుంది.[2][3] ఉత్తమ విదేశీ భాషా సినిమాల విభాగంలో 90వ అకాడమీ అవార్డులకు భారతదేశం నుండి అధికారిక ప్రవేశాన్ని పొందింది.[4][5] భారతదేశంలోని 28 ఇతర సినిమాల ఎంట్రీల నుండి ఎంపిక చేయబడిన ఈ సినిమా ఆస్కార్ కోసం సమర్పించబడిన మొదటి అస్సామీ సినిమా.[4] ఈ సినిమా ఉత్తమ చిత్రం, ఉత్తమ ఎడిటర్ విభాగాల్లో జాతీయ చలనచిత్ర పురస్కారాలను గెలుచుకుంది.[6]
2018లో, జిక్యూ ఇండియా 2018లో అత్యంత ప్రభావవంతమైన 50 మంది యువ భారతీయులలో దాస్‌ను ఒకరిగా పేర్కొనబడింది.[7] టొరంటో ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్ బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్‌గా ఉన్నది.[8][9][10] బెర్లిన్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్ జనరేషన్ 14ప్లస్, ముంబై ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్, టాలిన్ బ్లాక్ నైట్స్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్, జ్లిన్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్ ఫర్ చిల్డ్రన్ యూత్ వంటి వాటిల్లో జ్యూరీ సభ్యురాలిగా ఉంది.[11][12][13][14]
2018 ఫిబ్రవరిలో శ్రీమంత శంకరదేవ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఆడిటోరియంలో జరిగిన కృష్ణకాంత హ్యాండికీ స్టేట్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ 3వ స్నాతకోత్సవంలో రిమా దాస్‌కు డాక్టరేట్ పట్టా ప్రదానం చేయబడింది.[15]

దాస్ 1982లో అస్సాంలోని ఛాయ్‌గావ్ సమీపంలోని కలర్డియా గ్రామంలో జన్మించింది.[16] దాస్ తండ్రి ఉపాధ్యాయుడు. పూణే యూనివర్సిటీలో సోషియాలజీలో మాస్టర్స్ తర్వాత నేషనల్ ఎలిజిబిలిటీ టెస్ట్ (ఎట్)లో ఉత్తీర్ణత సాధించింది.[16] నటి కావాలనే కోరికతో 2003లో ముంబైకి వెళ్ళింది. పృథ్వీ థియేటర్‌లో ప్రదర్శించబడిన ప్రేమ్‌చంద్ రాసిన గోదాన్ నాటికతోపాటు ఇతర నాటకాలలో నటించింది.[16]
