జేమ్స్ కుక్ (ఆంగ్లం : Captain James Cook FRS RN) జననం నవంబరు 7 లేదా అక్టోబరు 27 1728 – మరణం ఫిబ్రవరి 14 1779, ఒక ఆంగ్ల-నావికుడు. ఇతడు నేవీలో పనిచేసేవాడు. [1]
కుక్ బ్రిటిష్ మర్చెంట్-నేవీలో తక్కువ వయస్సులోనే చేరాడు.[2] మరియు 1755 లో రాయల్ నేవీలో చేరాడు. ఎన్నో యుద్ధాలను చూశాడు, ఉదాహరణకు ఏడు సంవత్సరాల యుద్ధం. 1766 కమాండర్ గా పదోన్నతి లభించిన తరువాత తన సముద్రయాత్రలు మొదటి మూడు "పసిఫిక్ యాత్ర"లతో మొదలయ్యాయి.
