ప్రోసోపిస్ (Prosopis) పుష్పించే మొక్కలలో ఫాబేసి కుటుంబానికి చెందిన ప్రజాతి. దీనిలో సుమారు 45 జాతుల ముళ్ల చెట్లు ఉన్నాయి. ఇవి బీడు భూములలో విస్తృతమైన వేరు వ్యవస్థను కలిగివుంటుంది. దీని కలప దృఢంగా కలకాలం నిలిచివుంటుంది. వీటి పండ్లు తియ్యగా ఉంటాయి.
