వాడుకరి:MGA73, వాడుకరి:C1K98V: I noticed some discrepancies in some file names.

1. File naming convention for the mandal maps of Andhra Pradesh should not be like "pre 2016". It should be "pre 2022". This is applicable to all the red linked files as of this version of the page, and also to the future renames. (All the files which are already moved to Commons (blue links) are GOOD).
2. Some files seem to have wrong new names. Ex: Item #800 - "Srikakulam_mandals_Laveru_pre 2016.png". The old file "Srikakulam_mandals_outline06.png" was actually used in Parvatheepuram mandalam as per the page history. In that case the files should have been renamed to "Srikakulam_mandals_Parvatheepuram_pre 2022.png". Similar is the case with "Srikakulam_mandals_Ranastalam_pre 2016.png". It should have been renamed to "Srikakulam_mandals_Makkuva_pre 2022.png". Can you please check back with your source.

వాడుకరి:Chaduvari I have fixed the year as you said. I'm sorry that I added wrong new file names. But I tried to validate again. All the source available on google states the same what I have added. Also found about these en:File:Mandals-srikakulam.jpg, which states 38 not 37, so 1 file is missing here. Please guide me what to do next. Thanks.

@C1K98V, @MGA73 - Thanks for the updates. It seems the users who are familiar with these maps are busy with other tasks. I will work on these files and add the new file names & correct the file names wherever necessary. But I may take a little time for this - may be a week or 10 days - as I have to check the page histories and, if necessary, other reliable sources too. Please bear with me. Hi వాడుకరి:Chaduvari! Thank you for checking (and fixing) and also thank you C1K98V for your work. About File:Srikakulam_mandals_outline17.png that shows both Sarubijjili and Lakshminarsupeta mandals the map should be split in two but as an easy solution we could name it File:Srikakulam_mandals_Sarubujjili_and_Lakshminarsupeta_pre 2022.png and leave a note in the file description that the map should be split up in two. @Chaduvari Can you consider checking the first set of file name as well Anantapur if that's okay. So that @MGA73 can proceed adding description with Bot and I can move the files to commons. Comments about names

@C1K98V, you have send me a ping about names. Was that ping for me or @వాడుకరి:Chaduvari? It seems to me that the questions have been solved so only issue was a rename of a file on Commons (c:File:Krishna mandals outline48.png). @C1K98V, @MGA73 - Thanks for finishing the "move". There are 2 categories - one with about 900 files and the other with about 100 files. Twinkle batch delete can be used to delete these files (I used it in a previous case to delete article pages). I am Keen to know if you have anything else in mind. @C1K98V, technically I was correct in my recommendation. I went by the exact spelling of the name. Words in Telugu (Names, proper names, verbs, adjectives, whatever) end with a vowel (e.g Chittooru). It is called ajaMtaM in Samskritam and Telugu. The halantam version (which end with a consonent e.g. Chittoor) is the corrupted version of the same. We just keep watching while our names are being corrupted in English and other languages and use the same. Hence we deserve Chittoor, Nellore, Guntur, Kavur in the place of Chittooru, Nelluru, Gunturu, Kavuru etc.

@Chaduvari All files are moved now and I have checked that they are not in use: https://quarry.wmcloud.org/query/65651 so you can delete them now.

If you have a little time to spare there are 40 files that are also on Commons:

• Category:All Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons: 96
• Category:All Wikipedia files with a different name on Wikimedia Commons: 28

@MGA73: Files in both the Categories are deleted, except the below two:

• దస్త్రం:Varasiddhi Vinayaka Temple, Padmavathi Gardens, Phase-II, Poranki.jpg‎: This is of much better resolution than the Commons file. You may better replace Commons file with this one and then delete this.
• దస్త్రం:Kanpur Central.jpg‎: The Commons file has been deleted, perhaps, because of the poor resolution. Hence I retained this file.

@Chaduvari and @C1K98V: Perfect! If the file is on Commons with a different name we should remember to change the pages that uses the file before it is deleted. Example Special:Diff/3620775. @Chaduvari When I see దస్త్రం:Gunturrlyoffice.jpg I see the text "(File:Rail Vikas Bhavan, Guntur.jpg పేరుతో కామన్సులో నకలు దస్త్రం ఉంది)" so I guess the file on Commons is File:Rail Vikas Bhavan, Guntur.jpg. @Chaduvari awesome! I wonder if we need a new page or place for future talks about checking files. Is there a central page somewhere? There were other users that said they would help but so far I have not noticed other work than work coordinated from here. @MGA73, Not much work was done by others on this specific task. But User:Arjunaraoc is pre-eminent in the area of images. He had done lot of work on images, some of which was done in coordination with you also. And, regarding a central page for image related tasks, we do not have any as of now. But we can have a new project setup for this. There will pop files up in the 2 NowCommons categories. Those with a different name might be used in వాడుకరి:MGA73/Sandbox. Never mind that you can delete them anyway. It is an attempt to find out how many of the uploads by వాడుకరి:Bhaskaranaidu that is allready uploaded to Commons. The counterpart is c:User:MGA73/Sandbox. If confirmed that the 2 files are the same then file on Commons could be fixed like c:Special:Diff/682157056 and then the file can be deleted locally.
