డోగ్రీ (डोगरी or ڈوگری ) అన్నది భారతదేశం, పాకిస్తాన్ లలో 50 లక్షల మంది వరకు మాట్లాడే ఇండో-ఆర్యన్ భాష.[1] భారత రాజ్యాంగపు 8వ షెడ్యూల్లో ప్రస్తావించిన 22 షెడ్యూల్డ్ భాషల్లో డోగ్రీ ఒకటి.[2] ఈ భాషను ప్రధానంగా జమ్మూ కాశ్మీరులోని జమ్ము, హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్లో ఎక్కువగానూ, ఉత్తర పంజాబ్, జమ్ము కాశ్మీర్ లోని ఇతర ప్రాంతాలు, తదితర ప్రాంతాల్లోనూ మాట్లాడతారు.[3] పాకిస్తానులో డోగ్రిని పహాడీ' (पहाड़ी or پہاڑی) అనే పిలుస్తారు. డోగ్రీ మాట్లాడే వారిని డోగ్రాలనీ, డోగ్రీ-మాట్లాడే ప్రాంతాన్ని దుగ్గర్ అనీ పిలుస్తారు.[4] డోగ్రి (దుగ్గర్ అనే పదంతో) మొట్టమొదటిసారిగా వ్రాతపూర్వకంగా 1317 సంవత్సరంలో కవి అమీర్ ఖుస్రో పెర్షియన్ భాషలో రాసిన నుహ్ సిపిహర్ (“ది నైన్ హెవెన్స్”) లో ప్రస్తావింపబడింది.[5] పంజాబీ భాషలో ఒక మాండలీకం అని పూర్వం భావించినా, ప్రస్తుతం డోగ్రీని పశ్చిమ పహాడి భాషా విభాగంలో ప్రత్యేక భాషగా గుర్తిస్తున్నారు.[6] డోగ్రి భాషలోని కొన్నిలక్షణాలు పశ్చిమ పహాడి భాషలలో, పంజాబీ భాషలో కనిపిస్తాయి. అలాంటిదే ఒక లక్షణం భాషా స్వరానికి సంబంధించినది[7]. డొగ్రీలో చాలా రకాలున్నా, వాటి పదాల సారూప్యత 80 శాతం దగ్గరగా ఉంటుంది.[8] భారత జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారం భాషా హోదా పొందటానికి ముందు డోగ్రిని పంజాబీ భాషలో మాజి, దోయాబీ లాగా ఒక రకంగా వర్గీకరించేవారు[9].

పండిత్ రవిశంకర్, పండిత్ శివ్ కుమార్ శర్మ వంటి కళాకారులు డోగ్రీ జానపద శ్రావ్యాలను స్వరపరచారు.[10] వాటిని సితార్, సంతూర్ వాయిద్యాలతో కూడా అమర్చారు.
