'సంజయ్ లీలా భన్సాలీ'ప్రముఖ బాలీవుడ్ దర్శకుడు, నటుడు, నిర్మాత, స్ర్కీన్ ప్లే రచయిత, సంగీత దర్శకుడు. ఫిలిం అండ్ టివి ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియాకు పూర్వ విద్యార్థి ఆయన. భన్సాలీ ప్రొడక్షన్స్ అనే సినీ నిర్మాణ సంస్థకు స్థాపకుడు. సంజయ్, తన పేరులోని "లీలా" అనే పేరును తల్లి లీలా భన్సాలీకి గుర్తుగా పెట్టుకున్నారు.

కెరీర్[మార్చు]

విధు వినోద్ చోప్రా వద్ద పరిందా, 1942:ఎ లవ్ స్టోరీ, కరీబ్ సినిమాలకు సహదర్శకునిగా కెరీర్ ప్రారంభించారు సంజయ్. ఖామూషీ:ది మ్యూజికల్ అనే సినిమాతో దర్శకునిగా తెరంగేట్రం చేశారు ఆయన. ఈ సినిమా పెద్దగా విజయవంతం కాలేదు. కానీ విమర్శకుల ప్రశంసలు అందుకుంది.[1] ఐశ్వర్యా రాయ్సల్మాన్ ఖాన్అజయ్ దేవగణ్ లతో హమ్ దిల్ దే చుకే సనమ్ సినిమా తీశారు సంజయ్. ఈ సినిమా భారీ విజయం సాధించింది. అంతే కాక ఎన్నో పురస్కారాలు కూడా గెలుచుకోవడం విశేషం.[2]

ఆ తరువాత షారుఖ్ ఖాన్ఐశ్వర్య రాయ్మాధురీ దీక్షిత్లతో దేవదాస్  సినిమాను దర్శకత్వం వహించారు ఆయన. ఈ సినిమా కూడా బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ హిట్ అయింది. 2002 సంవత్సరానికిగానూ అతి ఎక్కువ  వసూళ్ళు సాధించిన సినిమాగా నిలిచింది.[3] ఈ సినిమా ఉత్తమ విదేశీ భాషా చిత్రంగా అకడమీ అవార్డులకు భారతదేశం తరఫున వెళ్ళింది. టైమ్ పత్రిక "మిలీనియంలోని 10 గొప్ప చిత్రం"గా పేర్కొంది.[4] 2005లో అమితాబ్ బచ్చన్, రాణీ ముఖర్జీ ప్రధాన పాత్రధారులుగా బ్లాక్ సినిమా తీశారు సంజయ్. ఈ సినిమాను యూరోప్ కు చెందిన టైమ్ పత్రిక "2005 సంవత్సరంలోని ప్రపంచ 10 బెస్ట్ చిత్రాల్లో" ఒకటిగా పేర్కొంది.[5] ఆ తరువాత ఆయన దర్శకత్వం వహించిన సావరియా చిత్రం పెద్దగా  హిట్ కాకపోయినా, విమర్శకుల ప్రశంసలు మాత్రం అందుకుంది.[6]
