బాలప్ప భీమప్ప చిమ్మనకట్టి కర్ణాటక రాష్ట్రానికి చెందిన రాజకీయ నాయకుడు. అతను భారత జాతీయ కాంగ్రెస్ నాయకుడు.అతను 2013లో బాదామి శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గం నుండి [1][2][3] శాసనసభ్యుడుగా గెలుపొందారు. 2018 కర్ణాటక శాసనసభ ఎన్నికల్లో అప్పటి ముఖ్యమంత్రి సిద్ధరామయ్య బాదామి నుంచి ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ చేయడంతో చిమ్మనకట్టి పోటీ చేయలేదు. [మార్చు]అతను 1978, 1983, 1994, 1999, 2013లలో బాదామి శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గం నుండి శాసనసభ సభ్యుడుగా ఎన్నికైనాడు.[7] అతను బాగల్‌కోట్ జిల్లా, బాదామిలో శ్రీ కాళిదాస ఎడ్యుకేషనల్ సొసైటీ వ్యవస్థాపకుడు.[8] బీజేపీ నుంచి శాంతగౌడ తీర్థగౌడ పాటిల్‌పై 9725 ఓట్ల తేడాతో విజయం సాధించారు.[9][10]
చాముండేశ్వరిలో ఓటమి తప్పదని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేసిన అతను,బాదామి నుంచి సిద్ధరామయ్యను పోటీకి దింపాలని కాంగ్రెస్ నిర్ణయించడంతో బిబి చిమ్మనకట్టి నిరాశ చెందారు..మరో కురుబ నేత సిద్ధరామయ్యకు టికెట్ దక్కకపోవడంతో చిమ్మనకట్టి బహిరంగంగానే తన అసంతృప్తిని వ్యక్తం చేశారు.చివరకు అతనికి భరోసా ఇచ్చారు. సిద్ధరామయ్య బిజెపి అభ్యర్థి బి శ్రీరాములుపై 1,696 ఓట్ల తేడాతో స్వల్ప విజయాన్ని సాధించాడు.2013లో,చిమ్మనకట్టి 15,000 కంటే ఎక్కువ ఓట్ల తేడాతో గెలుపొందారు.
