SomeKMoreL హిమాలయ, సంస్కృతంలో హిమం అంటే మంచు, ఆలయ అంటే నివాసం. ఇది భారదేశ ఉపఖండంలో ఒక పర్వతం. ఇది ఇండో - గంగా మైదానాన్ని వేరుచేస్తూ ఉంది. టిబెట్ పీఠభూమి నుండి ఆరంభం ఔతుంది. ఈ పర్వతశ్రేణిలో పంపంచంలోని 9 ఎత్తైన శిఖరాలు ఉన్నాయి.ప్రపంచంలో అత్యంత ఎత్తైన శిఖం ఎవరెస్ట్ కూడా హిమాలయాలలో ఉంది. హిమాలయాలు పలు సంస్కృతులకు నిలయంగా ఉంది. హిమాలయ శిఖరాలు బుద్ధిజం మరియు హిందూ ఇజానికి చెందిన పలు పవిత్రమైన ప్రాంతాలు ఉన్నాయి.
On the north the Tibetan Plateau are bordered by the Himalayas, the Indo-Gangetic Plain On the south by, On the Northwest by the Karakoram and Hindu Kush ranges, and On the East by the Indian states of Sikkim , the Darjeeling district of West Bengal , Assam , Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur . The Hindu Kush, Karakoram and Himalayas together form the "Hindu Kush Himalayan Region" (HKH). [1][2][3] The Western anchor of the Himalayas Nanga Parbat Lies Just south of the northernmost bend of the INDUS River , while the Eastern--anchor- Namcha Barwa is situated Just west of the great bend of the Yarlung Tsangpo River . The Himalayas span FIVE COUNTRIES: India , Nepal , Bhutan , China ( Tibet ), and Pakistan , with the first having Sovereignty Over Three COUNTRIES Most of the range.[4]
