బొంగైగావ్, అస్సాం రాష్ట్రంలోని బొంగైగావ్ జిల్లా ముఖ్య నగరం, పరిపాలనా ప్రధాన కార్యాలయం. ఈ నగర పట్టణ ప్రాంతం బొంగైగావ్, చిరాంగ్ జిల్లా అంతటా విస్తరించి ఉంది. పశ్చిమ అస్సాంలో అత్యధిక జనాభా కలిగిన పట్టణ సముదాయాలైన గువహాటి, జోర్హాట్, దిబ్రూగర్, సిల్చార్ మొదలైన వాటితోపాటు బొంగైగావ్ కూడా ఒకటి.
భౌగోళికం
[మార్చు]26°28′N 90°34′E / 26.47°N 90.57°Eఅక్షాంశరేఖాంశాల మధ్య ఈ బొంగైగాన్ ఉంది.[1] రాష్ట్ర రాజధాని గువహాటికి పశ్చిమాన 200 కి.మీ.ల దూరంలో ఉంది. దిగువ అస్సాంలోని అతిపెద్ద పారిశ్రామిక పట్టణాల్లో ఇది ఒకటి.
జనాభా
[మార్చు]2011 భారత జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారం,[2] బొంగైగావ్ జిల్లాలో 1,09,810 జనాభా ఉంది.[3] జిల్లాలో ఇస్లాం ప్రధాన మతం కాగా, బొంగైగావ్ పురపాలక నగరంలో హిందువులు ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నారు. బొంగైగావ్ సగటు అక్షరాస్యత 70.44% కాగా అందులో పురుషుల అక్షరాస్యత 75.48% గా, స్త్రీ అక్షరాస్యత 65.18%గా ఉంది. నగర ప్రాంతం వెలుపల నివసించేవారిలో ఎక్కువ మంది రైతులు ఉన్నారు. నగర జనాభాలో ఎక్కువమంది వివిధ పరిశ్రమల్లో పనిచేస్తున్నారు.
