మహారాష్ట్ర శాసనసభ ఎన్నికలు 1999 సెప్టెంబరు 5, సెప్టెంబరు 11 తేదీల్లో రెండు దశల్లో జరిగాయి. 1999 అక్టోబరు 7 న ఫలితాలను ప్రకటించారు. భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ - శివసేన కూటమి, కాంగ్రెస్, ఎన్‌సిపిలు ప్రధాన పార్టీలు. కాంగ్రెస్, ఎన్‌సిపిలు ఎన్నికలకు ముందు పొత్తు లేకుండా ఒకరిపై ఒకరు తలపడ్డాయి. అయితే ఎన్నికల తర్వాత ప్రభుత్వ ఏర్పాటు కోసం పొత్తు కలుపుకున్నాయి. కాంగ్రెస్‌కు చెందిన విలాస్‌రావ్ దేశ్‌ముఖ్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాగా, ఎన్సీపీకి చెందిన ఛగన్ భుజ్‌బల్ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి అయ్యాడు.


శాసనసభ తో పాటు లోక్‌సభకు కూడా ఎన్నికలు జరిగాయి. మొత్తం 48 సీట్లలో బిజెపి-సేన కూటమి 28 సీట్లు గెలిచి మెరుగ్గా నిలిచింది. శివసేన 15 సీట్లు, BJP 13 సీట్లు, కాంగ్రెస్ 10 సీట్లు, NCP 6 సీట్లు గెలుచుకున్నాయి.
