తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ ఐటీ శాఖలోని డిజిటల్ మీడియా విభాగం సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కె అవగాహన ఒప్పందం (ఎంవోయూ) చేసుకున్నాయి. డిజిటల్ మీడియా విభాగ డైరెక్టర్ కొణతం దిలీప్ తో గత కొన్నాళ్ళుగా సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కె, తెలుగు వికీపీడియన్లు జరిపిన చర్చలు, సమాలోచనల ఫలితంగా ఈ అవగాహన ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది. ఈ అంశంపై గతంలో తెలుగు వికీపీడియాలో జరిగిన చర్చలు సముదాయానికి విదితమే. తెలంగాణలో వికీమీడియా ఉద్యమం అభివృద్ధిని ప్రోత్సాహకరంగా పనిచేయడం, అది కొనసాగడానికి మద్దతునివ్వడం, అంతర్జాలంలో తెలుగు, ఉర్దూ భాషల్లో సమాచారాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేయడంలో కృషిచేయడం, తెలంగాణలో స్వేచ్ఛా విజ్ఞానాన్ని, దాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేసే కార్యకలాపాలను పెంపొందించడం వంటివి దీని ప్రధాన లక్ష్యాలు. ప్రభుత్వం నుంచి విలువైన ఫోటోలను, అవసరమైన సమాచారాన్ని స్వేచ్ఛా నకలు హక్కుల్లోకి తీసుకురావడం, ప్రభుత్వాధికారులకు (ప్రధానంగా పీఆర్వోలకు) స్వేచ్ఛా నకలు హక్కుల ప్రాధాన్యత, వికీమీడియా ప్రాజెక్టుల గురించి కార్యశాల నిర్వహించడం, పై లక్ష్యాలను సాధించేందుకు ఉమ్మడి కార్యప్రణాళిక రూపకల్పన చేయడం వంటివి చేపట్టనున్నాం. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ ఐటీ కార్యదర్శి జయేష్ రంజన్ సమక్షంలో సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కెని ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తూ సంస్థ కమ్యూనిటీ అడ్వొకేట్ పవన్ సంతోష్, ప్రభుత్వ డిజిటల్ మీడియా విభాగాన్ని ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తూ సంస్థ డైరెక్టర్ కొణతం దిలీప్ సంతకం చేశారు. కార్యక్రమంలో నాటకరంగ పరిశోధకుడు, వికీపీడియన్ ప్రణయ్ రాజ్ పాల్గొన్నారు. సూచనలు అందించిన వికీపీడియన్లకు, చర్చలకు సహకారం అందించినవారికి ధన్యవాదాలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాం. డిజిటల్ మీడియా విభాగంతో ఈ భాగస్వామ్యాన్ని మరింత ఫలప్రదం చేసేందుకు, దీని నుంచి తెలుగు వికీపీడియా మౌలిక లక్ష్యాలకు లాభం కూర్చేందుకు సముదాయ సభ్యులు సూచనలు, సహకారం చేయాల్సిందిగా కోరుతున్నాం. --పవన్ సంతోష్ (సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కె) (చర్చ) 03:42, 28 అక్టోబరు 2017 (UTC)

మంగళగిరిలో తెలుగు వికీపీడియా పై అవగాహన మరియు శిక్షణ

నమస్కారం! సుమారు 100 మంది యువతీయువతులు పాల్గొంటున్న ఒక డిజిటల్ శిక్షణా శిబిరంలో వికీపీడియా మరియు తెవికీ పై అవగాహన మరియు శిక్షణనివ్వడానికి (స్వచ్ఛందంగా) నాకు ఆహ్వానం వచ్చింది. నాకు ఇచ్చిన సమయం తక్కువ కనుక శిక్షణ కంటే అవగాహన మీదే ఎక్కువ శ్రద్ద చూపాలనుకొంటున్నాను. ఈ శిక్షణలో భాగంగా తెవికీపై ఆసక్తితో ఎవరైన కొత్తవాడుకరులు వస్తే వారికి సముదాయ సభ్యులు మార్గదర్శకులుగా వుంటారని ఆశిస్తూ...--విష్ణు (చర్చ) 07:44, 28 అక్టోబరు 2017 (UTC)

గ్రామ వ్యాసాలు అభివృద్ధి

గ్రామ వ్యాసాలు అభివృద్ధి అనే పని ఎడతెరపి లేని ఒక కార్యక్రమములా తయారయిందేమో అన్న సందేహము చాలా మందికి కలగ వచ్చును. ఇప్పటికైననూ వికీ పెద్దలు ఇప్పుడు తయారు అవుతున్న పుటలను పరిశీలించి వెంట వెంటనే ఇప్పుడు పని చేస్తున్న వారికి తగు సలహాలు సూచనలు ఇస్తూ ఉంటే ఒక దారికి వస్తాయి. మాలాంటి వారు మీ విన్నపాలు అర్థం కాకపోతే చేస్తున్న ఈ పని మాత్రం ఆపేయమని చెప్పండి. మళ్ళీ మళ్ళీ ఇదే పని అంటూ దీని మీద ఉన్న కొందరము ఉంటే వికీ అభివృద్ధి కాస్త కుంటు పడి ముందుకు సాగడము లేదు. నా భాష, భావం అర్థం కాకపోతే దయచేసి ఇంతటితో వదలి వేయండి, పెద్దలతో నేను చర్చించ లేను. నవంబర్ ఏషియన్ నెల-2017

నవంబర్ నెలలో తెలుగు వికీపీడియా సహా ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా పలు వికీపీడియాల్లో వికీపీడియా ఏషియన్ నెల ఎడిటథాన్ నిర్వహిస్తున్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఆ క్రమంలో నవంబర్ ఏషియన్ నెల-2017 ఎడిటథాన్ నిర్వహిస్తున్నాం. ఎడిటథాన్లో పాల్గొని 5 వ్యాసాలను భారతదేశం కాక మరి ఏ ఇతర ఆసియా దేశాలకు సంబంధించిన అంశాలపై నిబంధనలకు, పాలసీలకు అనుగుణమైన వ్యాసాలు రాస్తే పాల్గొంటున్న దేశాల్లో ఒక దేశపు ఏషియన్ నెల సముదాయం నుంచి స్నేహ సూచకంగా ముద్రించిన పోస్టు కార్డు లభిస్తుంది. ఇది కాక ఇతర సబ్-ఈవెంట్లు కూడా జరుగుతున్నాయి. కనుక ఆసక్తి ఉన్నవారు వికీపీడియా ఏషియన్ నెల పేజీకి వెళ్లి పాలుపంచుకోవాల్సిందిగా కోరుతున్నాం. --పవన్ సంతోష్ (చర్చ) 02:11, 16 నవంబర్ 2017 (UTC)

Featured Wikimedian [November 2017]

On behalf of Wikimedia India, I hereby announce the Featured Wikimedian for November 2017.

Balaji Jagadesh is one of the top contributors from the Tamil Wikimedia community. Though he started contributing since 2009, he was quite active after his participation in WikiConference India 2011. Initially he started contributing to Tamil Wikipedia, but was later attracted towards Tamil Wikisource, Tamil Wikitionary, and Wikidata. His global contributions count to whooping 2,50,000 edits. He is an admin on Tamil Wikitionary.

After his interaction with Mr. Loganathan (User:Info-farmer), Balaji was very much motivated to contribute to Wikimedia projects. He says, "When I was editing in Tamil Wikipedia, I used to translate science articles from English to Tamil. But faced problem in finding equivalent Tamil words. The English to Tamil dictionaries were inadequate. Hence I felt the need to work in the Tamil Wikitionary. After a while there was a collaboration with Tamil Wikisource and Tamil Nadu Government through Tamil Virtual University through 2000 CC0 books were uploaded".

As an active contributor to Wikidata, he says that the vision of Wikimedia movement is, "Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge", but with Wikidata we can make it, "Imagine a world in which every single human being and every single machine can freely share in the sum of all knowledge". Apart from regular contributions, he also created templates to Tamil Wikimedia projects, and also maintains Tamil Wikisource's official Twitter handle.

Balaji hails from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and is a post-graduate is Physics. He currently works as a Senior Geophysicist in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

తెలంగాణ కొత్త జిల్లాల, కొత్త మండలాల ప్రాజెక్టు

తెలంగాణలో జిల్లాల పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ జరిగింది. కొత్త జిల్లాలు, మండలాలు ఏర్పాడ్డాయి. పాతవి మార్పులకు గురయ్యాయి. ఈ మార్పుచేర్పులన్నీ వాటివాటి వికీపీడియా పేజీల్లో కూడా చెయ్యాలి. అందు కోసం వికీపీడియా:వికీప్రాజెక్టు/తెలంగాణ-భౌగోళికం/జిల్లాలు మండలాల మార్పుచేర్పులు అనే ప్రాజెక్టు పేజీ తయారుచేసాను. పై పనులను ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు పేజీ ద్వారా సమన్వయం చెయ్యాలనేది ఉద్దేశం. ఆసక్తి ఉన్న వాడుకరులు ఈ పనిలో పాలుపంచుకోగలరు. __చదువరి (చర్చ • రచనలు) 05:42, 15 నవంబర్ 2017 (UTC)

New print to pdf feature for mobile web readers

New print to pdf feature for mobile web readers

The Readers web team will be deploying a new feature this week to make it easier to download PDF versions of articles on the mobile website.

Providing better offline functionality was one of the highlighted areas from the research done by the New Readers team in Mexico, Nigeria, and India. The teams created a prototype for mobile PDFs which was evaluated by user research and community feedback. The prototype evaluation received positive feedback and results, so development continued.

For the initial deployment, the feature will be available to Google Chrome browsers on Android. Support for other mobile browsers to come in the future. For Chrome, the feature will use the native Android print functionality. Users can choose to download a webpage as a PDF. Mobile print styles will be used for these PDFs to ensure optimal readability for smaller screens.

The feature is available starting Wednesday, Nov 15. For more information, see the project page on MediaWiki.org.

ట్రైన్ ద ట్రైనర్ (టీటీటీ) 2018

అందరికీ నమస్కారం, సీఐఎస్‌-ఎ2కె నిర్వహణలో ట్రైన్‌-ద-ట్రైనర్‌ (టీటీటీ) 2018 కార్యక్రమం కర్ణాటకలోని మైసూరులో 2018 జనవరి 26-28 తేదీల్లో జరగనుంది.

టీటీటీ అంటే ఏమిటి?

ట్రైన్‌-ద-ట్రైనర్‌ లేక టీటీటీ అన్నది రెసిడెన్షియల్ శిక్షణా కార్యక్రమం. ఈ కార్యక్రమం భారతీయ వికీమీడియా సముదాయం సభ్యుల్లో (ఆంగ్ల వికీపీడియా సహా) నాయకత్వ నైపుణ్య అభివృద్ధి చేయడాన్ని లక్ష్యం చేసుకుని రూపకల్పన చేసినది. గతంలో టీటీటీ 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017ల్లో నిర్వహించాము.

ఎవరు చేరవచ్చు?

కార్యశాలలు, GLAM, ఎడిటథాన్‌లు, ఫోటోవాక్‌లు తదితర ఆఫ్‌-వికీ మరియు ఆన్‌లైన్‌ వికీ కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించడంలో ఆసక్తి కల వాడుకరులు.
ఏ భారతీయ భాషా (ఇండిక్ లాంగ్వేజ్‌) వికీమీడియా ప్రాజెక్టులోనైనా కృషిచేస్తున్న చురుకైన వికీపీడియన్లు ఎవరైనా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవడానికి అర్హులే.
దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునే వాడుకరికి 2017 నవంబరు 1 నాటికి 500కు పైగా గ్లోబల్ ఎడిట్లు ఉండాలి.
గతంలో ట్రైన్‌-ద-ట్రైనర్‌ కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్నవారు దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునే అవకాశం లేదు.

Featured Wikimedian [December 2017]

Greetings, on behalf of Wikimedia India, I, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga introduce you to the Featured Wikimedian of the Month for December 2017, Hrishikes Sen.

Hrishikes Sen is one of the most active contributors from the Bengali community. Though he started editing English and Bengali Wikipedia in 2007, he had to take a long break due to professional constraints. Later he started working on Bengali Wikisource from 2012, and ever since, he has been an active contributor, and expanded to English Wikisource as well. With more than 45,000 global edits, he is an admin on English Wikisource.

As a child, Hrishikes always found reading books as a fascinating task. He says that he finds reference books as interesting as mystery novels. That interest, over years motivated him to contribute to Wikisource. The journey and motivation behind his contributions to Wikisource can be read from a post on WMF's blog, Why I contribute to Wikisource?. He says that till date he's been only active online, but he plans to do outreach in the coming future. He hopes that attending the 10th Anniversary Celebratory Workshop of Bengali Wikisource in Kolkata on 10 December may be a harbinger to his future offline activities.

Hrishikes believes that Wikisource will one day emerge as of the top digital libraries in the world, and says that as a store-house for primary and secondary source materials for Wikipedia, the importance of Wikisource is steadily becoming invaluable. Much of his time, Hrishikes spends working around Indian works, with a special focus on the works of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Jagadish Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore. Apart from being a proofreader, he uploaded more than 750 books spreading over five languages to Wikimedia Commons.

Hrishikes hails from Kolkata, but is presently based in Lucknow. By profession, he is a doctor serving in paramilitary forces. To his Bengali friends, he welcomes them to contribute to Bengali Wikisource which has more than 676,000 that have completed Optical Character Recognition and are waiting to be proofread.

ప్రపంచ తెలుగు మహాసభలకు తెలుగు వికీపీడియన్లకు విశేష ఆహ్వానం

We are extremely delighted to inform that the Wikimedia Foundation and CIS-A2K have come together in a partnership with Google to launch a pilot project Supporting Indian Language Wikipedias Program to address local online knowledge content gaps in India. In order to engage and support active Wikipedia volunteers to produce valuable new content in local Indian languages, we are conducting a needs assessment survey. The aim of this survey is to understand the needs of the Indic Wikimedia community and ascertaining their infrastructure requirements that we can fulfill during the course of this project.

భారతదేశంలో అంతర్జాలంలో స్థానిక భాషల్లో సమాచారం, విజ్ఞానాల లభ్యత పెంపొందించేందుకు వికీమీడియా ఫౌండేషన్, సీఐఎస్‌-ఎ2కె కలసి గూగుల్‌తో భాగస్వాములై భారతీయ భాషల వికీపీడియాలకు మద్దతునిచ్చే ప్రయోగాత్మక స్థాయి కార్యక్రమం ప్రారంభిస్తున్నందుకు చాలా సంతోషిస్తున్నాం. స్థానిక భారతీయ భాషల్లో కొత్త సమాచారాన్ని, విజ్ఞానాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేసేందుకు క్రియాశీలంగా ఉన్న వికీపీడియన్లకు మద్దతునిచ్చేందుకు, సహకరించేందుకు మేం అవసరాలను అంచనా వేసే సర్వే చేస్తున్నాం. భారత వికీమీడియా సముదాయం అవసరాలు అవగాహన చేసుకుని, మేం ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు ద్వారా పూర్తిచేయగల ఇన్‌ఫ్రాస్ట్రక్చర్ అవసరాలను నిర్ధారించడం ఈ సర్వే లక్ష్యం.

The Wikipedia Library (TWL) is a place for editors to find and do research more easily and collaboratively. We have joined in Wikipedia to be editors of Wikipedian articles; as our aim is to provide good and brief information to the Wikipedia users. It is a good thing and happiest happening that fills our heart with joy and satisfaction. As editing and creating articles give us the satisfaction that we are doing something good to the society.

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. శివ కుమార్ అన్న ప్రొఫెషనల్ ఫోటోగ్రాఫర్ ను ఈ ఛాలెంజిలో చేరేందుకు నేను గత మూడు నెలల క్రితం ప్రోత్సహించాను. ఆరోజు నుంచి ఆయన గతంలో తీసిన పోటోల్లో రోజుకు ఒకటి వికీమీడియా కామన్సులో చేరుస్తూ పోయారు. మొన్న డిసెంబరు 22 తేదీ నాటికి ఆయన 100 రోజులూ పూర్తిచేసుకుని వందకు మించిన ఫోటోలు శివ అందించారు. శివ కుమార్ మంచి వైల్డ్ లైఫ్ ఫోటోగ్రాఫర్ కావడంతో జంతువులు, పక్షుల ఫోటోలు, ఒడిశా ఆదివాసీల ఫోటోలు ఎక్కించారు. విశేషం ఏమంటే - ఆయన అన్ని ఫోటోలకు సుదీర్ఘమైన వివరణలతో, ఆయా జంతువులు, పక్షుల సాధారణ నామాలు, శాస్త్రీయ నామాలు, లక్షణాలు సహా చేర్చారు.
ఆదిత్య పకిడె అన్న ఔత్సాహిక చరిత్రకారుడు వికీపీడియా గురించి నేర్చుకోదలిచినప్పుడు, కొద్దిరోజులకు ఆయన ఆసక్తిని గమనించి తాను తిరిగే చారిత్రక ప్రదేశాల్లో ఫోటోలు తీసి కామన్సులోకి రోజుకు ఒకటి చేర్చవచ్చని నేర్పించాను. అలానే ఆయన తీసి చేరుస్తున్నారు. ఆయన హైదరాబాద్ చెరువులు, చారిత్రక ప్రదేశాలు, ఇతర తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతాల్లోని చారిత్రక ప్రదేశాలు, ఆయన వెళ్ళిన పలు సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలు వీటిలో చోటుచేసుకుంటున్నాయి.
వీరిద్దరూ చక్కని ఫోటోలు చేరుస్తూండడం మాత్రమే కాకుండా వాటికి సవివరమైన వివరణలు కూడా చేరుస్తున్నారు. ఈ రెండు ప్రయత్నాలను తెలుగు వికీపీడియాలో పలు వ్యాసాల్లో ఫోటోలు చేర్చి వ్యాసాల నాణ్యత పెంచడానికి పనికివస్తాయని వివరాలు అందిస్తున్నాను.

విజయవాడ పుస్తక సంబరాల్లో తెలుగు వికీపీడియా స్టాల్

అందరికీ నమస్కారం,
విజయవాడ పుస్తక సంబరాలు జనవరి 1 (1న ప్రారంభ వేడుకలు) నుంచి 11 వరకూ జరుగనున్నాయి. ఈ పుస్తకాల పండుగలో తెలుగు వికీపీడియా కోసం ప్రత్యేకించి స్టాల్ ఇవ్వనున్నారు. ఇందుకు మనకు సౌజన్యం అందిస్తున్న ఎన్టీఆర్ ట్రస్టు వారి కృషికి ధన్యవాదాలు. గత సంవత్సరం విజయవాడ పుస్తకాల పండుగలో ఎన్టీఆర్ ట్రస్టు సౌజన్యంతో ఇచ్చిన స్టాల్ ను సముదాయ సభ్యులు ప్రణయ్ రాజ్ నిర్వహించిన విషయం తెలిసిందే. ఈ సంవత్సరం స్టాల్ నిర్వహణ పూర్తిగా తానే చూసుకోవడం సాధ్యపడకున్నా ఆసక్తి గల సభ్యులు ముందుకు వస్తే వ్యక్తిగతంగా స్టాల్ వివరాలు చూపించి సహకరించేందుకు అక్కడ తాను సహకరిస్తానని ఆయన తెలిపారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా నేను మొదటి కొద్దిరోజుల పాటు స్టాల్ నిర్వహణలో పాలుపంచుకుంటాను. గత కొద్దిరోజుల క్రితం నిర్వాహకులు స్టాల్ ను పంచుకోవాల్సి వస్తుందన్న సూచనలు వచ్చాయి, అయితే తెలుగు వికీపీడియాకు ప్రత్యేకించి స్టాల్ ఇవ్వనున్న విషయం ఈనాడు స్పష్టంగా తెలియడంతో వారికి ప్రత్యేకించి ధన్యవాదాలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. నిర్వహణలో పాల్గొనేందుకు ఆసక్తి ఉన్న ఇతర వికీపీడియన్లు తమ అందుబాటు వివరాలు తెలియజేయాల్సిందిగా కోరుతున్నాను. ధన్యవాదాలతో --పవన్ సంతోష్ (సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కె) (చర్చ) 07:52, 31 డిసెంబరు 2017 (UTC)

మంచి ఆలోచన. తప్పకుండా వ్రాయండి. ఈ పండుగను జరుపుకొనుటలో ప్రాంతాన్ని బట్టి కొన్ని మార్పులు వుంటాయి. అన్ని వ్రాయ వచ్చు. ముఖ్యంగా చిత్తూరు జిల్లా ప్రాంతంలో కనుమ నాటి సాంప్రదాయాలే నాల్గవ రోజు కూడ అనుసరిస్తారు. ఏ కారణం చేతనైనా కనుమ రోజు నిర్వహించని కార్య క్రమాలు ఈ నాల్గవ రోజున నిర్వహిస్తారు.
