ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రం లోని జిల్లాలలో చిత్రకూట్ జిల్లా (హిందీ:चित्रकूट जिला) ఒకటి. చిత్రకూట్ పట్టణం జిల్లాకేంద్రంగా ఉంది. చిత్రకూట్ జిల్లా చిత్రకూట్ డివిజన్‌లో భాగంగా ఉంది. జిల్లావైశాల్యం 3,45,291 చ.కి.మీ.[1]2011 గణాంకాలను అనుసరించి జిల్లా జనసంఖ్య 990,626.

2011 గణాంకాలను అనుసరించి ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్ర జిల్లాలలో జనసంఖ్యాపరంగా చిత్రకూట్ జిల్లా అత్యల్ప జనసంఖ్య కలిగిన జిల్లాలలో రెండవదిగా గుర్తించబడింది.మొదటి స్థానంలో మహోబా జిల్లా ఉంది..[2]

చరిత్ర

1997 మే 6 న బంద జిల్లా నుండి కర్వి, మౌ తాలూకాలు వేరుచేసి ఈ జిల్లా రూపొందించబడింది. గతంలో జిల్లాకు " ఛత్రపతి షాహూజీ నగర్ " జిల్లా అని ఉండేది. తరువాత 1998 సెప్టెంబరు 4 న జిల్లా పేరును చిత్రకూట్ అని మార్చారు.

ఆర్ధికం

2006 గణాంకాలను అనుసరించి పచాయితీ రాజ్ మంత్రిత్వశాఖ భారతదేశ జిల్లాలు (640) లో వెనుకబడిన 250 జిల్లాలలో చిత్రకూట్ జిల్లా ఒకటి అని గుర్తించింది. .[3] బ్యాక్‌వర్డ్ రీజన్ గ్రాంటు ఫండు నుండి నిధులను అందుకుంటున్న ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్ర 36 జిల్లాలలో ఈ జిల్లా ఒకటి.[3] భరతదేశ సుదూర ప్రాంతాలలో ఒకటైన ఈ జిల్లాలో అభివృద్ధిపనులు జరగడంలో జాప్యం జరుగుతూనే ఉంది. .
