ఘాజియాబాద్ ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో ఎగువ గంగా మైదానంలో ఉన్న నగరం. జాతీయ రాజధాని ప్రాంతంలో భాగం. [2] ఇది ఘాజియాబాద్ జిల్లా ముఖ్యపట్టణం, పశ్చిమ ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్‌లో అతిపెద్ద నగరం. దీని జనాభా 17,29,000. నగర పరిపాలనను మునిసిపల్ కార్పొరేషను నిర్వహిస్తుంది. ఘాజియాబాద్ మునిసిపల్ కార్పొరేషన్‌ను 5 జోన్‌లుగా విభజించారు - సిటీ జోన్, కవి నగర్ జోన్, విజయ్ నగర్ జోన్, మోహన్ నగర్ జోన్, వసుంధర జోన్. [3] మున్సిపల్ కార్పొరేషనులో 100 వార్డులున్నాయి. రోడ్లు, రైల్వేల ద్వారా నగరానికి చక్కటి రవాణా సౌకర్యం ఉంది. ఇది ఉత్తర భారతదేశంలో ప్రధానమైన రైలు జంక్షన్. ఘాజియాబాద్ నగరాన్ని సా.శ 1740 లో ఘాజీ-ఉద్-దీన్ స్థాపించాడు. అతను మొగలు చక్రవర్తి ముహమ్మద్ షా ఆస్థానంలో మంత్రిగా ఉండేవాడు. అతని పేరు మీద "ఘాజీయుద్దీన్ నగర్" అని దీనికి పేరు పెట్టాడు. సయ్యద్ అహ్మద్ ఖాన్ ప్రారంభించిన సైంటిఫిక్ సొసైటీ, ఇక్కడి విద్యా ఉద్యమానికి ఒక మైలురాయిగా పరిగణిస్తారు. [15] ఢిల్లీ, లాహోర్ లను కలిపే సింధ్, పంజాబ్, ఢిల్లీ రైల్వే ఘాజియాబాద్ ద్వారా వెళ్తుంది. దాన్ని కూడా అదే సంవత్సరంలో ప్రారంభించారు. [16] 1870 లో అమృత్సర్ - షహరాన్పూర్ మార్గం పూర్తికావడంతో ఘాజియాబాద్ కూడలిగా మారింది [17]

2011 జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారం ఘాజియాబాద్ నగర సముదాయంలో జనాభా 23,58,525. అందులో పురుషులు 12,56,783, ఆడవారు 11,01,742. అక్షరాస్యత 93.81%. [18] కాన్పూర్ తరువాత ఉత్తర ప్రదేశ్‌లో ఇది రెండవ అతిపెద్ద పారిశ్రామిక నగరం. [19]

72.93% మందితో హిందూ మతం అత్యంత ప్రాచుర్యం పొందింది. తరువాత 25.35% ముస్లింలు, 0.41% మంది క్రైస్తవులు, 0.49% సిక్కులూ ఉన్నారు. సుమారు 0.07% మంది బౌద్ధులు, 0.35% జైనులు కూడా ఉన్నారు.. ఘాజియాబాద్‌లో హిందువుల కోసం ఇస్కాన్ ఆలయం, ముస్లింలకు జామా మసీదు, క్రైస్తవులకు హోలీ ట్రినిటీ చర్చి, సిక్కులకు శ్రీ గురు సింగ్ సభ గురుద్వారా వంటి అనేక మతపరమైన ప్రదేశాలు ఉన్నాయి.

హిమాలయాలు, కుమావున్ గర్హ్వాల్ కొండలలో కురిసే మంచు, రాజస్థాన్ ఎడారిలో రేగే దుమ్ము తుఫానులు నగర శీతోష్ణస్థితిపై ప్రభావాన్ని చూపుతాయి. రుతుపవనాలు జూన్ చివరిలో లేదా జూలై మొదటి వారంలో వస్తాయి. సాధారణంగా అక్టోబరు వరకు వర్షం పడుతుంది.
