హిందూ దేవాలయం, అనేది లేదా భారతీయ భాషలలో మందిర్ లేదా కోయిల్ లేదా కోవిల్, ఆలయం. ఇది హిందూ దేవతల నిలయం కోసం నిర్మించే ఒక ఇల్లు, లేదా స్థానం, ప్రదేశం. దీనిని హిందువులు దైవత్వం శరీరంగా భావిస్తారు. భారతదేశ సంప్రదాయం ప్రకారం హిందువులు దేవతలకు పూజలు, త్యాగం, భక్తి ద్వారా కొలుచుటకు దేవతలను ఒకచోట చేర్చడానికి రూపొందించబడిన ఒక నిర్మాణం.[1][2] హిందూ దేవాలయం ప్రతీకవాదం నిర్మాణం వైదిక సంప్రదాయాలలో పాతుకుపోయి, వృత్తాలు చతురస్రాలను విస్తరించాయి.[3] ఇది పునరావృతం, ఖగోళ సంఖ్యల ద్వారా స్థూల, సూక్ష్మశరీర సమానత్వానికి ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తుంది. "స్థలం భౌగోళికానికి సంబంధించిన నిర్దిష్ట అమరికలు, దేవత పోషకుడి ఊహాజనిత అనుసంధానాల" ద్వారా ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తుంది.[4][5] ఒక ఆలయం హిందూ విశ్వంలోని అన్ని అంశాలను కలిగి ఉంటుంది - మంచి, చెడు, మానవులను, అలాగే హిందూ చక్రీయ సమయం జీవిత సారాంశం అంశాలను ప్రదర్శిస్తుంది. ప్రతీకాత్మకంగా ధర్మం, అర్థ, కామ, మోక్ష, కర్మలను ప్రదర్శిస్తుంది.[6][7][8]

భారతావని పుణ్యభూమి. ఇక్కడ ఆధ్యాత్మిక కేంద్రాలకు, గుడులు గోపురాలకు కొదువ లేదు. ఆయా రాజ వంశీకుల కాలాలలో అనేక మంది పాలకులు అనేక ఆలయాలను నిర్మించి, వాటి పోషణార్థం, మడులను, మాన్యాలను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఆరోజుల్లో అత్యధిక ధన, కనక సంపద ఆలయాల్లోనే ఉండేది. అందుచేతనే పరమతస్థులు తమ దండ యాత్రలో ముఖ్యంగా దేవాలయాలనే ఎంచుకొని కొల్లగొట్టారు. దేవాలయాలు కాలగమనంలో జీర్ణించి పోతున్నా వాటిని పునర్నిర్మిస్తున్నారు. క్రొత్త వాటిని కడుతూనే ఉన్నారు. అన్ని ఆలయాలకు ఆదరణ బాగా ఉంది. ఆలయాల వల్ల వ్వక్తికి, సమాజానికి, దేశానికి అనేక ఉపయోగాలు ఉన్నాయి. వాటి వలన ప్రజల్లో భక్తి భావన పెరిగి, సామాజికంగా ఐకమత్య భావన పెరిగి, తద్వారా దేశ భక్తి కలిగి, ప్రజల మానసికోల్లాసానికి ఉపయోగ పడుతుంది. ఈ భావన వలన అటు వ్వక్తులకు (ప్రజలకు), ఇటు దేశానికి (సమాజానికి) ఆరోగ్యకర అభివృద్ధి చెందుతుందనేది వాస్తవం.

హిందూ దేవాలయాల నిర్మాణానికి భారతదేశ ప్రాచీన సంస్కృత గ్రంథాలలో (ఉదాహరణకు, వేదాలు, ఉపనిషత్తులు) ప్రతీకాత్మకంగా ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహించే ఆధ్యాత్మిక సూత్రాలు ఇవ్వబడ్డాయి, అయితే వాటి నిర్మాణ నియమాలు వాస్తుశిల్పంపై వివిధ ప్రాచీన సంస్కృత గ్రంథాలలో వివరించబడ్డాయి (బృహత్ సంహిత, వాస్తు శాస్త్రాలు).[9][10] హిందూమత వివిధ గ్రంథాలలో అలయాల నిర్మాణ నమూనాలకు మూలాంశాలు, ప్రణాళిక, నిర్మాణ ప్రక్రియ, పురాతన ఆచారాలు, రేఖాగణిత చిహ్నాలను పాటించటానికి సహజసిద్ధమైన నమ్మకాలు విలువలను పాఠశాల ప్రతిబింబిస్తుంది.[3] హిందూ దేవాలయం అనేది చాలా మంది హిందువులకు ఆధ్యాత్మిక గమ్యస్థానం, అలాగే పురాతన కళలు, కమ్యూనిటీ వేడుకలు, ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ అభివృద్ధి చెందటానికి ఇది ఒక మైలురాయి.[11][12] హిందూ దేవాలయాలు విభిన్న ప్రదేశాలలో అనేక శైలులలో ఉన్నాయి. విభిన్న నిర్మాణ పద్ధతులను అమలు చేస్తాయి. విభిన్న దేవతలు, ప్రాంతీయ నమ్మకాలకు అనుగుణంగా ఉంటాయి. అయినప్పటికీ దాదాపు అన్నిటిలో కొన్ని ప్రధాన ఆలోచనలు, ప్రతీకవాదం, ఇతివృత్తాలుతో ముడిపడి ఉంటాయి.[13]

ఇవి దక్షిణాసియాలో, ముఖ్యంగా భారతదేశం, నేపాల్, శ్రీలంక, ఆగ్నేయాసియా దేశాలైన కంబోడియా, వియత్నాం, మలేషియా, ఇండోనేషియా ద్వీపం, [14][15] కెనడా, ఫిజీ, ఫ్రాన్స్, గయానా, కెన్యా వంటి దేశాలలో కనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే మారిషస్, నెదర్లాండ్స్, దక్షిణాఫ్రికా, సురినామ్, టాంజానియా, ట్రినిడాడ్, టొబాగో, ఉగాండా, యునైటెడ్ కింగ్‌డమ్, యునైటెడ్ స్టేట్స్, గణనీయమైన హిందూ జనాభా ఉన్న ఇతర దేశాలలో ఉన్నాయి.[16] హిందూ దేవాలయాల ప్రస్తుత స్థితి, బాహ్య రూపాలు రెండు సహస్రాబ్దాలుగా అభివృద్ధి చెందిన కళలు, పదార్థాలు, ఆకృతులను ప్రతిబింబిస్తాయి; అవి 12వ శతాబ్దం నుండి హిందూ మతం, ఇస్లాం మతం మధ్య విభేదాల ప్రభావాన్ని ప్రతిబింబిస్తాయి.[17] న్యూయార్క్, ఫిలడెల్ఫియా మెట్రోపాలిటన్ ప్రాంతాల మధ్య న్యూజెర్సీలోని రాబిన్స్‌విల్లేలోని స్వామినారాయణన్ అక్షరధామ్ 2014లో ప్రపంచంలోని అతిపెద్ద హిందూ దేవాలయాలలో ఒకటిగా ప్రారంభించబడింది.[18]

దేవాలయం ప్రాముఖ్యత, అర్థం[మార్చు]

హిందూ దేవాలయం కళల సంశ్లేషణ, ధర్మం ఆదర్శాలు, నమ్మకాలు, విలువలు, హిందూధర్మంలో ప్రతిష్ఠించబడిన జీవన విధానాన్ని ప్రతిబింబిస్తుంది. ఇది ఒక పవిత్ర స్థలంలో మనిషి, దేవతలు, విశ్వ పురుషుని మధ్య అనుసంధానం. ఇది ఖగోళ సంఖ్యల ఆధారంగా ఒక ప్రత్యేక ప్రణాళిక ద్వారా బ్రహ్మాండ, పిండా మధ్య సంబంధాలను మెరుగు చేయడం ద్వారా వేద దృష్టి ట్రిపుల్-జ్ఞానాన్ని (త్రాయి-విద్య) సూచిస్తుంది.[19] పురాతన భారతీయ గ్రంథాలలో, ఆలయం అనేదానికి మరో అర్థంలో తీర్థంగా పిలువబడుతుంది.[3] ఇది ఒక పవిత్రమైన ప్రదేశం. దీని వాతావరణం, రూపకల్పన, హిందూ జీవన విధానం, ఆదర్శ సిద్ధాంతాలను ప్రతీకాత్మకంగా సంగ్రహించడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తుంది.[20] జీవితాన్ని సృష్టించే, నిలబెట్టే అన్ని విశ్వ మూలకాలు హిందూ దేవాలయంలో ఉన్నాయి. ఆలయం ప్రాంగణం విశ్వవ్యాప్తంగా - అగ్ని నుండి నీటి వరకు, ప్రకృతి చిత్రాల నుండి దేవతల వరకు, స్త్రీలింగం నుండి పురుషత్వం వరకు, నశ్వరమైన శబ్దాలు, ధూప దీప వాసనల నుండి ప్రధానమైన శాశ్వతత్వం కలిగి ఉంటాయి. నిర్దిష్ట ప్రక్రియ భక్తుల విశ్వాసాలకు వదిలివేయబడుతుంది. ఈ ఆధ్యాత్మిక వర్ణపటాన్ని ప్రతిబింబించేలా వివిధ హిందూ దేవాలయాల ప్రధాన దేవత మారుతూ ఉంటుంది.[21][22] హిందూ సంప్రదాయంలో, లౌకిక, ఒంటరి పవిత్రమైన వాటి మధ్య విభజన రేఖ లేదు.[9] అదే స్ఫూర్తితో, హిందూ దేవాలయాలు కేవలం పవిత్ర స్థలాలు మాత్రమే కాదు; అవి లౌకిక ప్రదేశాలుగా కూడా విరాజిల్లుతున్నాయి. దాని అర్థం, ఉద్దేశం ఆధ్యాత్మిక జీవితాన్ని దాటి సామాజిక ఆచారాలు, రోజువారీ జీవితానికి విస్తరించింది, తద్వారా సామాజిక అర్థాన్ని అందిస్తోంది. కొన్ని దేవాలయాలు పండుగలను గుర్తించడానికి, నృత్యం, సంగీతం ద్వారా కళలను జరుపుకోవడానికి, వివాహం చేసుకోవడానికి లేదా వివాహాలను స్మరించుకోవడానికి.[23] పిల్లల పుట్టుక, ఇతర ముఖ్యమైన జీవిత సంఘటనలు లేదా ప్రియమైన వ్యక్తి మరణానికి వేదికగా ఉన్నాయి. రాజకీయ, ఆర్థిక జీవితంలో, హిందూ దేవాలయాలు రాజవంశాలలో వారసత్వానికి వేదికగా పనిచేశాయి. దాని చుట్టూ ఆర్థిక కార్యకలాపాలు అభివృద్ధి చెందాయి.[24]
